The only way to get more speed is to reduce drag or increase HP. There are several posts that you can review in regard to reducing drag. Lift rails and shaft enclosures are the easiest and least expensive. A lot of money gets spent on props for very little in return. The carbon fiber props show the greatest promise for increasing performance, and I have heard a lot about VEEM props, what you are really buying is engineering, the actual props are a byproduct. Most boats can find an extra knot with a modern designed prop, but plunking down $5k-$20K to go an extra knot is not a real good return on investment. There are couple of posts on lift rails and the owners claims of speed increases. I have them installed on my boat and will report the results when it goes back in the water. Shaft enclosures work, and you will gain an extra knot if you install them. Between lift rails, shaft enclosures, and the right props you may get an extra 3 to 5 knots, but you are talking about spending some serious cash to get it.
