Hatteras Model
45' CONVERTIBLE-Series II (1984 - 1992)
Has anyone replaced the blower motor in the salon a/c unit. Mined failed. How do I get to it do I have to disassemble the cabinet it is in?

Not sure how you get to it on a 45C but you should be able to replace it with the new style Turbo Vac blowers. Another HOFer replaced his and has had great results. I have one that is getting weak and will most likely put one in. You can DIY it as long as they will fit. I was told by CruisAir that they will fit as replacements for most of the squirrel cage style blowers. If you've got the old open fan design you might be better off replacing the whole air handler. I believe you can get a replacement motor from Grainger if CruisAir no longer stocks them.

IT IS GOING TO BE TUFF! There are two ways to get to the fan through the top by taking the grill out . Or by removing the intake grill it is tight but that is it. I am going to assume that it is the same as a 1986 45 c mine went down it was tuff at best seems we finally worked from both locations. Till we figured out we could remove the who;e front panel....

Done this job and you will need to to take off the intake grill and unscrew the cabinet from the salon wall. Once loose you can lift it out and gain access. You may have to take the base of the couch out to get the cabinet out. You can then take the squirrel cage apart from the air handler .

Thank you for the reply will plan on removing the front panel look at having that cabinet redone so that it can be removed at some later point. Thanks Again
