  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
41' CONVERTBLE-Series II (1986 - 1991)
I was asked to ballpark delivery for a 1986 43MY. 6-71s

I'm guessing 12knt cruise....is that realistic? WHat do you supose the will burn?

Thanks

12 knots is going to be too fast for hull speed and too slow for planeing speed. about 7-8 knots will be your hull speed, anything above that will make the fuel burn go up. a guess would be about 7 gallons per hour at hull speed

1.2nmpg at 1300 rpm, roughly 8 knots, is what we usually do.

1972 43DC 6-71N

We had an '85 with Covington 6-71 TIs and did quite a bit of cruising. We could get about 1.2 running around 8+ knots. If I ran the boat at 2,000 rpm with a full load ready for Winter in the Bahamas we could make 16.2 knots and I am thinking that was around 30 gallons an hour.
Wide open buck naked on the Callosahatchee we could make a tick under 21 knots.
YMMV :D

1983 DCMY 671 TI 1100 RPM 8 to 8.3 kts 1.4 nm per gallon without generator.

Anything above that will seriously reduce mpg.
