Karl,

I have never seen a spec sheet quite as impressive as Gigabite's. I have made a copy and will be highlighting many of the upgrades that you have done to Gigabite to go on my own to-do list. Talk about a turn-key vessel, yours is the spitting image!

I wish you the best of luck with your sale and I envy the lucky owner who gets to reap the benefits of years of excellent service from a vessel so well taken care of.

We just hope we can keep you in the Hatteras family. SOMEBODY PLEASE FIND THIS MAN A YF NEEDING REBUILDS!!!

Well, truth be told, if I was going to do one thing to her right off it would be a full paint job and I might replace all the teak trim outside (tackle center, bait freezer, bridge trims) with starboard. I'd also re-engineer the salon entry door from the cockpit. That's the worst misfeature on the boat, in my opinion, and its shared with ALL of the 45Cs of this vintage.

The paint isn't BAD, but its not what it could be. On the other hand I've seen a LOT of boats from this era where a lot of money was spent on the cosmetics and darn near ZERO on the systems. Thing is, the cosmetics are cheap compared to the mechanicals - and a pretty paint job don't get you home from 100nm out fishing!

Of course if I was to do all that the price asking would be nowhere near as reasonable as it is.... :D

Ok guys, I found the CC that I want...... so there is now an incentive (that is, a discount from the asking price posted) for someone who buys the boat from the forum.

If you're a forum member and bring me the buyer (you have to TELL ME FIRST who it is that's coming to buy her!) I'll also give you an incentive.

It'll be well worth your while in any event...... PM for details.

ER photos now added to the listing page....

The "Hatt board user" incentive expires in mid-May, and if not under contract by the end of July my intention is to spend the fall making further improvements at which point the price is likely to go up a good bit (e.g. electronics refit, perhaps some cosmetics, etc) as I will again have time to wokr on that stuff.

Basically, if you want a boat like this for the season, this is definitely the time to buy her, especially given the value..... :D

You’re very good at putting on the squeeze, Karl…:)

I’ve got a guy that might be interested, but he’s out of town right now on a med visit. As soon as he gets back…

Gig's now got some fuel in her.... was out today and stopped to feed the oil barons..... so the deal's a bit sweeter at the moment (until we get a good day or two for me to go out and burn it up!)

Ok folks - considering listing her...... if I put her on a central, that's that in terms of doing special favors for forum members, so if you've got a serious interest, time to chat with me..... :)

She's ready to rock-and-roll.....

Re: 1985 45C Hatteras For Sale - REDUCED!

Oh - bring offers. Gigabite must go!

Karl,

Jeremy mentioned today that he has a friend in Lauderdale who is looking. I'll send him the information on Gigabyte and see if there is any interest and let you know.

Doug

Thanks Doug.....

She's had all her spring stuff done at this point, so if someone in Ft. Lauderdale wanted her they could come up, have a look-see, do the mandatory survey and sea trial stuff, close and take off. I have no concerns at all about her being fine for the trip home - she's in "fighting trim" :)

Karl,
I just sent you an email about someone interested in your boat. He's up here in CT, but seems interested. This is the guy who almost bought the Buddy Davis that we were discussing last summer. Let me know if you have any problems getting ahold of him.
Bob

Didn't get the email - PM me here..... (my spam filter probably kicked it back)

Thanks - I emailed your friend....

Doug,
I am a new Hatt owner - could you email me at dale@bristolyachtsinc.com with any Hatt's LRC 48 - 58? OR, I'll go for another convertible - maybe something newer than my 1964 41' Shipping and/or traveling is ok, too.
Thanks
Dale
