So when do we start on SIBONEY??? ws

Yer absolutely correct Mario! I am so envious of you; the sub will never be that nice! Count your blessings and thank your lucky stars! ws

That's Bruce's boat. I was on her a few years ago in the Virgin Islands. That's where I got my galley remodel ideas. Her name is "Bad Boy" and she's got a hot tub on the flybridge, and a "garage/workshop" behind the master stateroom which was obtained during the extension. She's got both an indoor and outdoor galley. She used to have a huge juke box and popcorn machine, but Bruce has removed those. She is a really fun boat, loaded with all the toys....at least she was when I was on her. The price on her as dropped way low and in doing so, I would be surprised if some of the bigger toys came off. Like I said, I noticed the juke box went missing with one of the price drops.

Bruce now spends his time touring the US on his Harley.

That boat has to be absolutely scarey in a following sea!

It's scarey in a following sea before the extension!

As I have posted in the past, I ran a 60' Hatteras, it was a 53" with a 7' extension done in Ft Lauderdale (they did do a great job).

But it had problems.

They put shaft extentions on it and we had constant vibrations. Had it pulled 3 times, twice the couplers were lose/broken, once the alignment went out......

I may be mistaken, but I think this boat is now at National Marine Liquidators in Ft Lauderdale. I saw her from a distance and I think its this same boat.

That's a lot of boat for a little money.

The problem is that keeping her is likely a $100,000 a year proposition all-in before fuel.

Unless I misread it, in the description of the extension layup it said that the extension is cored. It does look luxurious though.

why would she be that much more to keep than a 53 or 58? Especaially sicne it appears the the major expenses have been taken care of recently.

yeah, she's cored, which is a shame:

# Molded fiberglass reinforced polyester resin
# Cored lay-up, molded fiberglass
# Full length keel, fitted post manufacturing in 2001
# skeg keel - props protection
# Frames and stringers, fiberglass encapsulated timbers
# Deck beams integral with deck molding
# Hull/Deck connection is bolted and fiberglass bonded

And I wonder what effect the full keel and skeg keels have had on handling? Sure is pretty, and definitely a bargain.
