Hatteras Model
42' CONVERTIBLE (1971 - 1978)
Hi All,
I need to replace my fuel gauges and house water tank gauge in my 1975 42C. Would appreciate any ideas/comments.
Mine are original.
Thanks,
Capt, Mark

Does yours look like these photos?if so contact Sam’s. Look these up in their catalog under gauges. They are easily cleaned as well. Let me know if this is what you have and I can walk you through cleaning them.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick response! Mine are older than your photo with cork floats and a different face plate, but the same concept.
I have cleaned them over the years, but the cork is done. I have 2 200 gallon fuel tanks and I believe my water is 180 gallons.
I didn't know if there was a rebuild kit or a more updated version available. I am very interested in any options you are aware of.
thanks!
Mark

Sam’s has Wema gauges. Not direct reading , but very reliable.

If yours are shot I’d give Sam’s a call and order new ones.

Look at their website at rochestergauges.com and look at their 8200 series gauges. They are for marine applications including water and fuel. There are direct reading and also the type to act as sensor for distant water and fuel panel gauges. I think #8240 has the electrical connections for panel gauges.

Floats are now nitrile rubber.

Thank you all for the leads, I will follow up!!
Thanks again,
Mark

That’s what we are all here for. Paying it forward.

I changed mine several years ago. I think Rochester was the manufacturer on the face of the gauge.

Not going to the boat for a couple of weeks but will check when I do.
