What's the size for the cutlass bearings for a 1974 43dc?? This are the 2 sizes available.

Shaft Bearing - 1 3/4" ID, 2 3/8" OD; 7"L

Shaft Bearing - 1-3/4" ID, 2-5/8" OD, 7"L

Call SAMS. The know what you boat needs.

sam should know, if not pull it and measure it. just let them know what size shaft you have and you should be all set.

I forgot my size, best way is to pull it and verify ... you get one bearing and cut it in half . its a bear to get in , i cut my old one out with sawsall , and installed new by chamfering leading edge and using a floor jack to press it in .

strut pro.com makes a tool for the diy people. no matter how you are installing it, I would keep the new ones on ice to shrink them, so they will go in easier. if you cut the old ones out, you should be able to shrink an bang the new ones in. good luck

Heard back from SAMS, its 2 3/8 OD

Why not just buy them from Sams? That might help keep them in business so that next time you have a question they will still be there to answer it.

X2. They are a wonderful source for both parts and information.
