Hatteras Model
41' CONVERTBLE-Series I (1964 - 1971)
“Sea Wise is for sale”. Hey guys, I'm going to drop the price $5,000.00 if you know someone looking for a 34C this would be a great deal. My (new to me) 41C will be leaveing Canada next Monday. I can not fit them both in one slip. You could not find a better time to buy this boat! I am also willing to pay a commission if you can help me sell her. Price has been reduced to $34,500.00 plus I will pay a $2000.00 commission if send me someone and we close the sale. Pictures can be seen on member’s information page. http://www.samsmarine.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=49 this link should get you there. Now some of the pictures are of the 41C that I just closed the deal on today. All the pictures of the 41C have “41C” in the title. Just want to make sure there is no confusion. Sea-Wise is a very dependable fishing boat. She is no yacht and you don’t need to worry about bumping the dock. But what she lacks in beauty she more than makes up for in “solid running gear” engines were rebuilt by Caterpillar last year, 3116 Caterpillar’s with all updates, the engines have less than 80hrs. New ZF trans. New shafts and props. She runs the best. And is very fuel efficient. Last trip out, 81 miles on the GPS 20knots cruse, and she burned 54 gallons. If my figures are correct that’s 1.5 mph. not bad for a old gal that will run on up to 26/27 knots if you like. Inside is clean. I can get more pictures if anyone is interested. Bottom line, run her out 50 miles to the canyon fish all day. She may not be the best looking gal at the dance. I don’t have to tell you guys that already own a hatt, But let it get snotty and see who they line up behind when it's time to go to the house. Asking $39,500. I don’t think you can buy the power train for that.

I have a friend who just bought an older Hatt that prolly should have bought YOURS!

I HOPE YOUR RIGHT GENESIS. THE WIFE JUST LOOKS AT ME AND SHAKES HER HEAD EVERY TIME THE SUBJECT OF HAVING TWO BOATS COMES UP. I HAVE TRIED AND TRIED TO MAKE HER UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH MONEY I AM SAVING AND HOW MUCH I CAN MAKE ON THESE BOATS. BUT SORRY TO SAY, SHE JUST DONT GET IT. :d
YOU KNOW HERE A WHILE BACK A COUPLE OF BUDDYS AND ME WERE TALKING ABOUT OUR WIFES AND WHEN WE FIRST GOT MARRIED. (YEARS AGO, NO DECADES AGO) ONE OF THE GUYS SAID THAT HE LAID THE RULES DOWN EARLY ON, ON WHAT HE EXPECTED OF HER DUTIES. I BELIEVE HIS WIFE WAS FROM MISSISSIPPI. HE TOLD HER SHE WAS TO DO THE COOKING, WASH HIS CLOTHS, CLEAN THE HOUSE, TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE. HE SAID THE NEXT DAY HE DIDNT SEE MUCH CHANGE. THE SECOND DAY HE BEGAIN TO SEE SOME IMPROVEMENT. AND ON THE THIRD DAY SHE HAD IT DONE. MY OTHER BUDDY, HIS WIFE WAS FROM HERE IN LOUISIANA I BELIEVE. HE TOLD HIS LITTLE WIFE SHE NEEDS TO KEEP THE HOUSE CLEAN, DO THE COOKING, TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE, AND FEED THE DOGS. HE TOLD US THE NEXT DAY HE DIDNT SEE ANY THING. BUT THE NEXT DAY SHE HAD MOST THINGS DONE AND ON THE THIRD DAY, THINGS WERE RUNNING SMOOTHLY. I TOLD THEM I ALSO HAD LAID DOWN THE LAW TO MY BRIDE. MY DEAR WIFE IS FROM CONNECTICUT I TOLD HER SHE WAS TO KEEP THE HOUSE CLEAN, WASH MY CLOTHS, FEED THE DOGS, TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE, WASH MY TRUCK AND MY BOAT ONCE A WEEK. THE NEXT DAY I DIDNT SEE ANYTHING. THE SECOND DAY I SAW NOTHING, NO CHANGE. BUT ON THE THIRD DAY IT GOT BETTER. THE SWELLING HAD GONE DOWN IN THE LEFT EYE ENOUGH THAT I COULD SEE WELL ENOUGH TO FIX MYSELF A SANDWICH AND CALL THE LAWN MAINTENCE GUY.

Yeah, ditto on the Connecticut wife!

Saw Photos Of The 41 You Are Buying. I Saw This One For Sale About A Year Ago On E Bay, Bank Repo.

From The Photos The Boat Looks Real Clean. Close Ups Of Windows Appear To Show No Leaks. Odd That A Repo Would Look That Nice.

You are right. She was a bank repo. I'm not sure what the whole story was, wish I did. But she is just as clean in person as the pictures would indicate. I could find not one place that appear to be leaking inside the boat. It was cold and windy and raining when we sea trialed her. Even while cruising down the river in the rain at 10+ knots, with all three wipers going wide open, not a drop anywhere. She has been in fresh water all her life. And from what I can find out has spent most of her life covered. She was commissioned new into the Detroit area. Then for what ever reason she was repossessed and reclaimed buy the bank. A fellow in Ontario Canada just across the river from Port Huron Mi. bought her and planed on using her in conjunction with his present business. He has a 100' vessel that he charters out for weddings, parties and such. They go out on Lake Huron if the weather is nice. And if it's not they cruise the river. He told me it was just not practical for him to take out a party of six or so on the large boat. And he was thinking he would be able to meet the needs of the smaller groups with this 41'. Here lies the problem he lives and operates in Canada. When he bought the 41 he did not know that when you bring a boat into Canada from another country it has to be recertified, to be used as a commercial vessel. Now if he had wanted to use her for private use, no problem. For commercial use however the vessel has to be brought up to the same standards as a new vessel. To do this the cost was just simply not worth it. Consequently he decided to sell her and buy a Canadian boat. So anyway that’s where I came in. Now I have got to figure out how I want to get her from Ontario Canada to the gulf coast of Louisiana. As much as I think I would like to cruise her down here on the water, I just can not make myself make that statement at this time.
