Each alarm on the system is a closed circuit. When the sensor for that circuit opens, the alarm sounds. My question is, does each circuit run a positive or negative(ground) through it? Either would be possible, I'm just not sure and it may make a difference based on the alarm switches/sensors.

I'm asking because I no longer need the 12pt for my engine alarms, and I'm building a new panel for just the high water, fire, and loss of AC and I want to use the original sensors.

I was going to look at the schematics but I neglected to do that when I was on the boat last.

WOW!! That was quick service. Thanks Rusty. Those diagrams were exactly what I needed.

It looks like the common lead is the positive.
