I have (2) 25' 125V 50A shore power cords.

I also have a (2) 125v50a female - (1) 125/250v 50a male Y adaptor

Everything for $300.

All are in good condition. Yellow faded a bit but working fine. I do not have pics now but I will try to get them posted ASAP.

Located in Lighthouse Point FL.

No takers? Each cord retails for $300. The "Y" adaptor retails for over $300
 
A 125v/50 amp rather than a 125v/250v 50 amp is a pretty rare item. My 45' Californian had fittings for both on each side of the boat. My 42' Nordic Tug had them as the primary plugs. Most of the older Bluewater houseboat/yachts had them as primary.

I have seen two marinas with 125v 50 amp service. One was South Shore Harbor in League City, TX and the other one was on City Island, NY.

I would be curious how many other boats and marinas used the 125v 50 amp as the main hook up rather than the combo 125v/250v 50 amp set up.
 
I agree. That's why they have the 125/250v to 2-125v Y adaptor. Did any of the older Hats have 125v 50A?

If I had the proper male female plugs I would convert them to 125/250v.

That's correct. You could wire it to deliver 50A/250V. Many of the older Hatts came with dual 50A/125V shore power. My '74 46C was setup that way until I changed it to 50/250.

To wire the cord other than the standard 125/250 plug should be is taking a chance . One day someone may not know it's converted and use it where a neutral is required and something bad could happen.

I have the opposite on my 65C. I have 2 50/250 and 1 50/125 on each side. I use the 50/125 connection for when I'm on the hard and only have a standard Edison connection. The transformers will still give me 240V.
 
I'm re-furbishing the power inlets on my 58 LRC. Mostly for the 50 Amp 240v lines which are two on the bow and one on each side of the cockpit. I have all those new parts including new fuse holders and I have installed the 240v inlets on the bow. I removed the 50 amp 125v inlets on the bow.

I have never seen a 50 amp 125v plug on a dock, but I was thinking that it may be useful to have 30 amp 125v inlets. The wires are there and the transformer would do its thing with out issue. I guess I would need to lower the amp rating on the panel. The costs would be new inlet receptacles (4) @$150, more new fuse holders (8) ($200 each, $400 per receptacle), new 30 amp breakers (4) $?.

I wonder what you folks think, should I even bother? I got a lot of other stuff to do.

They make a 50a 125v to 30a 125 adapter. I have used it several times and run just a 30a cord. It works just fine with no modifications. It comes in handy when the boat is on the hard and I want to use my 240v battery charger but there are no 50a 240v receptacles.

Why are there no protective slides on there to keep you from energizing more than one circuit at a time? Is there some sort of other safety switch or something? In other words, if you were plugged into a 240v plug, could you turn on all three breakers and make the prongs on the 120v inlet plugs hot?

Thanks Sky but the inlet plugs and fuses are shot. For now I think I will cover the holes until such time as I find both time and funds for 30 amp service. I did find the fuse holders at FIC Ind. Hanover MD. They make the fuses every few months but do not stock many.

I hate to say it but I'm chasing the electrician. The slides were included in what I paid for. He seems sincere in getting back to address this, but his business failed, his wife left him, and he's gone to work for a large yard. As of two weeks ago, he's promised to take care of it before the end of the year......he's a good guy and will complete this for me, but I'll keep nudging him every two weeks or so, more often if we get into March and it's still an open issue
