12 v 71 n oil pan config.

I see the pan is a two part construction, a small one and then what appears to be the main one, is it necessary to remove the small one first or can they come out as one piece.

The small sump pan has to come down first. The pick up tube supports are actually bolted to the main pan. The main pan is extremely heavy. I take them down on my own, use a couple ratchet straps and it's not too bad of a job.
