  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
36' CONVERTIBLE-Series II (1983 - 1987)
With a sale pending on our 1987 36 Convertible, we need to replace the risers. 12" risers are no longer available. I have seen it suggested to bolt a 4" to an 8". How is that done?

Marine Manifold in Farmingdale NY will make them for you 631-694-0714.
I tried to put a 4" and an 8" together on my boat but would hit steps to stateroom so for me, no good. If you have the room it should work.
I ended up changing manifolds to mercruiser style and all associated risers and elbows. I used 4" and 8" risers together to get 12" also. good luck, Ron

Thank you so much. We close this morning and this will be a comfort to the new owner.

We had the same problem with our 1986 36 convertible. We sent one old rizer to Marine Manifolds in Farmingdale NY. I paid $800 for each rizer/elbow. They make them from copper nickel. They fit perfectly and are supposed to last a lifetime.

I recently had my risers checked out at Marine Manifold about 9 months ago. I don't think the $800 for new copper nickel is correct quote, probably more like $4,000. They mostly make out of stainless steel with the shower head on end now. Fortunately for me, my 40 year old original monel risers turned out to be in great shape. None the less, great guys at Marine Manifold in Farmingdale, would recommend them.
