  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
I posted a thread yesterday asking some questions on the 12 point monitor system.

Come to find out, my boat, an early 1978 53' YF, was equipped with a 4 point monitor. They apparently changed to the 12 point version later in the production year.

What confused me was the schematics that were on board were for the 12 point system.

And, as the old adage goes, "if all else fails, read the manual." In this case, the manual is the Owners Manual that I assume came with the boat when it was new. Section 3.11.1, labeled Alarm Center, describes the 4 point system I have. 1 page of description and an accompanied page with a schematic. It doesn't provide details of the wiring nor location of the sensors, but at least it's something.

I have scanned the pages and emailed them to Steve McPhearson to post in the Sam's Tips and Tricks section of the web site for future reference.

For those of you that might care: Sams' also has the complete monitor for $150 and the face plate for $175. They only have 2 of the 4 sensors in stock and can no longer get additional replacements for any of them.
