  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
41' CONVERTBLE-Series II (1986 - 1991)
I am having issues with my 12 point monitor system. First issues concerns removing the face plate located on the forward bulkhead in the engine room. The fuse holders are in bad shape and spin when trying to remove the fuses. I am unable to pull the panel forward enough to get to the fuses. Is there a trick that I am missing? Also, where is the control panel which houses the fuses and relays for the system? The vessel is a 1987 41' convertible.

My main board is under the lower helm (53EDMY). On the 60C Series 1, its in the engine room. I have no idea on your boat, but that might give you a couple of places to look. It should be in an aluminum enclosure with a label on the front cover.

I had some in-line fuse holders go bad, in my ER. I notice that Blue Sea now offers a fully sealed, Automotive style of flat fuse holder. The fuse cavity is sealed with a polyurethane(?) boot, as are the automotive seals.

So I switched from the round cartridge fuses to the flat fuses and holders. They are a nice setup and appear more sturdy, than the in-line holders, plus the flat fuse is easier to open/close and the fuse is more convenient to remove/install.
