  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
63' MOTOR YACHT (1985 - 1987)
I need to replace one of the 110 volt pumps/motor on a 1987 63MY. Anybody have a source? THanks

Are you sure its 110V not 220?

depco in tampa is probably the best source for the pumps. Motors too but what is wrong with the one you have?

It was gone, just the in and out hose left!

You re going to need to know the size of the pump... How many ACs do you have? Your best bet is one of the bigger march pumps, After going thru a couple of cruisair pumps I got a march TE 5.5 C MD to run 5 units with capacity to spare... The magnetic drive plastic impellers last a lot longer...

Check with Sams or Roger at Jarrett bay to see what you need. Also check to see the voltage and control system are there and working beofre you go buying new stuff. if there is a choice between 110 and 220 always go 220. If you have to replace a bunch of components do it with future upgrades in mind. I get all kinds of flack from people who went cheap and then find they cant use it with the new upgraded system.

I have a 90% new Oberdorfer 104M F13 that is the OEM version of the Cruisair 1500 BX. Brand new never used motor, impeller and seals. Pump head 9 months old and refurbished by Depco (who installed the motor and other parts mentioned. Like almost all of these pumps, it is 230 volt, but I believe it can be wired up to 115 as well. It would feed all five units on my 56. Long story, but I ended up with two of these and am kind of keeping this as a spare. I need to post it on parts for sale.

From a CruiseAir dealer, with a CruiseAir label, they are about $750. From Depco they are $520-ish.
I'm thinking in the $400 range.

First thing you need to do is get a good tech to tell you what was in there or that will serve the systems in place today.Roger Wetherington at Jarrett Bay was responsible for those systems at Hatteras back when your boat was built, so is a good source too, IF your systems are the same set up as new or you boat wasn't built in a special way. I'm going to guess it was the Oberdorfer, but who knows what successive PO's have done to or added to your system.

I have been using a pump from Grainger for the past six years. 120/240V, bronze housing and impeller and SS shaft. Four AC units, one pump.So far so good.

Thanks all. I found the old pump in the engine room on the counter. It is a 1/2 HP baldor motor, with an unidentified pump housing on the end. It is 110 on the motor label, but my panel and the 50 amp service here are 240? I have 2 pumps, and 7 SC units... Cruisairs. The remaining motor runs fine, but the pump leaks badly. Sounds like I have many options..

Is the breaker for the pump a 2-pole or single pole breaker. If 2-pole (wide breaker that take up two spots), then it is a 220v pump.

Deco in Tampa will be your best bet. Send them the whole unit and they will repair and replace as needex
