I just insured with them and a number of people I know have them. They paid claims when required no questions. I know they were by far the easiest to insure with.
Sam's does not have it. I did learn that it goes in a model 1786 Duramax Stuffing box. Pretty cool design. It's got an air bladder that seals against the shaft so you can service stuffing box in the water without leakage.
My 89MY 65C has 3 1/2" shafts and Hatteras drawing calls for a "Lantern Ring" sandwiched between 3 sets of 1/2" packing. Does anyone have a part number or where to get these Lantern rings?
Dan you raise a good point. If I put a higher loop on the hose above the waterline will that give me more suction to pull the water out? Or will the air introduced by the pump when sucking water an air offset the suction?
The midship bilge on my 89 MY 65 C is the lowest bilge on the boat and a small compartment. When the water gets to a certain level the switch drops killing the pump and the water in the line runs back into the bilge creating a sloshing motion which kicks the switch off and on causing the bilge...
OK! I think I figured this out when I worked on a different shower! The inner ring apparently does a counterclockwise twist to come off and expose the rest of the light. I do however have one shower that is not budging for some reason. I don't know if someone glued it or what?
May sound dumb but I can’t figure out how to remove covers in bathroom shower to get to the lightbulbs in a 89 Hatteras 65C. I’ve tried gently prying but I don’t want to break anything.
It's an 89 Model 65' C (Encl Bridge). Are you referring to the DC breaker panel in the ER fwd bulkhead? I can't find a Windlass breaker, though there are few missing labels or is the box your referring to located somewhere else?
On a related note. The main wire to battery goes from bow down through areas I can't get to. How do I know which battery it would be connected to in the engine room?
I tried Galley Maid and he tried to be helpful but said to try to find a used one if possible as the cost for a new one in excess of $1500. Mine apparently got very hot and armature tossed a bar.
I am in search of a 24V Galley Maid Windlass motor for a 65' EB Sportfish. I checked with RAZ marine and they said they didn't have the armature or coil packs for the 24V and no motors in stock.
Any suggestions?
Shortly after purchasing my boat the Halon system was accidently discharged by pulling release lever in closet in salon. I've since removed the tank and had it refilled but can't get the alarm to go off on the bridge. I've reset the system at the tank and also reset the switch on the red box...
I purchased an 89 model 65' C with Factory Enclosed Bridge last July. The center glass on The EB had a crack in lower port corner and made arrangements to replace by a yard on the Gulf Coast experienced with this kind of work. Replacement made and all was well while other work resumed on the...
