Curious if anyone has been on one of the early 2000s 70' Convertibles? Anyone know if they all came with an enclosed flybridge or did you have the option of a open flybridge layout like on the 65'?
Losing the portlights on Convertibles?
When did Hatteras stop putting portlights on the convertibles? Looking at the brochures it seems by 1990 the trend was to eliminate them and it hasn't come back since. Was that just for leaking or style? I would think you would want the natural light.
Anyone know what the forward freeboard height is on the pre '98 65 Convertibles? I looked in the brochures on this site but it isn't listed in the specs. I did notice the old 53s actually have a higher forward freeboard than the 55's.
According to the actual stats the old Series I 60' Convertible is bigger than the later Series II 60' Convertible. Has anyone been on both of the series and noticed if there actually was a noticeable size difference?
A few newbie questions for anyone who can help:
1. Is the 1979 53' Convertible hull the same as the early-mid 1980s 55' Convertible hull?
2. What year did they change the hull design? 1980s hull lines seem straighter/pointier than the '70s?
3. Are 1980s hulls still solid fiberglass...
