I finally got around to messing with the windlass onboard. New to me boat. Galley Maid model BB, Capstan only no Wildcat. Only has power down? This is very frustrating. Why in the world would somebody only want power down? What am I missing here? The rode ends at a thimble and is then shackled...
I have a Galley Maid Windlass. Power up only. When I step on the foot pedal sometimes I can hear the relay clicking but nothing happens. Then try again and the windlass will start spinning. First thought is bad foot pedal. But it seems to close the circuit enough to put power to the relay...
