    Fuel hose replacement

I made my own hoses using reusable ends . Then you can choose which type you need. I would never mix the type of ends , but that’s just me . Obviously, it can be done from the comments above . Making your own hoses using reusable fittings allows the lengths to be just what you want. Saves money too.

Raw water intake hose - debacle of the day

I replaced our seacocks with new . When I broke that pipe joint that you’re working on , I had to take it with the old valve to a machine shop . They strapped the pipe to a chain vise , and then they appeared with the biggest pipe wrench that I have ever seen, at least 4 feet long , with the...

    Fuzzies again

I did our boat about ten years ago. I could probably stand to do it again. But what a job ! This Florida heat is hard on everything, including me.

    Source for Detroit exhaust blankets

I have dealt with Metcalf , great service . Even though they are working on a hundred thousand dollar project, they will take time with you . I suspect they are boat owners too .

Anyone Been Through Caesar Creek Lately?

Went to Key West a year ago, on the outside. Half my friends said the inside would be okay . The other half said that I would definitely touch bottom with 4 ft 10 draft . Used Hawk channel. Lots of pots in some areas by Marathon. I think that you would get to Gilbert’s okay, but not much further.

    Engine rebuild almost complete

You guys that pull your boats out for the winter are lucky. I would think blister formation is greatly reduced. I saw a 74 cockpit yacht here in Florida in the yard for a bottom job , after it was finished , the amount of bleeding from blisters was amazing. Far more blisters than you could open...

    Lookout Boat Windows

    Stringer Dimensions

Does anyone know the distance between the main stringers ( center to center) of a 61 MY ? I am planning to install a transom lift . This is harder to measure than you would think. The transom water tank doesn’t help either.

    Generator voltage oscillation

I have two 20 KW Kohler generators , one of them has just started to vary the voltage slightly, but enough to trigger the AC warning. Switching to the other generator stops the warning. The engine does not seem to change rpm , although I should check the rpm with a tachometer. The bushes have...

    Fiberglass Window Frames

I need to renew my windshield frames , but I am considering going to fiberglass frames, and maybe even the sliders in the salon. I always thought that the aluminum frames were much stronger, but maybe not. Has anyone replaced their frames with fiberglass , and what do you think of the results. I...

    Robertson Autopilot Pump

Just removed this pump from our boat. 32 Volt. Was working when autopilot processor unit failed. Three times larger and probably ten times better quality than what I will replace it with. Weighs approximately 45 lbs. Free to good home.
