This is docked in Daytona Beach today:
it looks like a 1510, but look at the short cockpit. And look how high the cockpit door is..... it must have a huge lazarette.
I’m still having trouble with my Hynautic Controls and am seriously considering replacing the whole mess with an electronic system. Has anyone here done that and did it work out well? How much did it cost?
After a four month pause our 20kw spewed white smoke on startup this morning. It ran fine the last time we used it and since then I’ve changed the oil and filter, changed the engine mounted fuel filter and the racor. It smells like unburned fuel and I was wondering if there is anything I can do...
The alloy trim around the exterior windows on the main deck have patches of corrosion and bubbling paint. Has anyone ever unscrewed and removed them and had them powder coated? I was thinking of grinding out all the corrosion and filling the low spots with solder or Alumiweld, like the lead in...
I changed and flushed my windlass oil last November when I discovered it was contaminated with water. Fast forward to yesterday when I found that it was an oil/water emulsion again. I flushed and filled again then called GalleyMaid to find out why this was happening.
Fun fact: there is no...
Sea Recovery customer service is not so good at first then it’s great
Another thread on good customer service, this time from Sea Recovery.
Last summer we upgraded our 2012 vintage 30gph watermaker to a new remote panel and a new control board after the original board failed. Several months...
Just a shout out to Scott Bickwid (boatsb) for his continued product support. I bought a Victron inverter/charger from him 18 months or so back and he has always been there to hold my hand! I had yet another question and once again he came through in a couple of minutes with an answer. Thanks, man!
Here is a link to the video introduction of this new outboard motor. It has a fixed powerhead and a rotating lower unit with internal powered steer by wire. Retail is $77k.

Does anyone have a source for a wiring diagram for a 430 tender? All of my accessory circuit is dead, the motor starts and runs, the gauges all work, but the VHF, Garmin and bilge pumps are inop. The bilge pumps are on a separate switched circuit than the accessories and none of the breakers...
Does anyone know WHERE this fan is located? Please don’t tell me it is behind the washer/dryer! Boat is an 18’2” beam motoryacht.....
Also is there a good source for replacement motors or parts? It’s 32v, I expect, but would a 24v unit be a viable alternative for a short duty cycle fan motor...

I have a couple of brass or bronze quick disconnect couplings for freshwater and seawater that need to be rebuilt. The ball bearings are rusty and the o’rings are just about flat. Does anyone know of an online source for these? Sam’s? Grainier?
FWIW the bearings seem to be a few thousands...
Is there an easily installed replacement for the GalleyMaid windlass? We had ours rebuilt two years ago and it’s making funny noises again. I had the bearing that allows some powering down installed, but we have been using it a lot.
I had the gypsy rechromed and I think they got it too thick...
We have white wallpaper in the hall between our engine rooms that looks like bead board and we are considering how to spruce it up. The is no peeling, but it has a few scratches and gouges and is getting discolored. I was thinking of filling the damage and painting it. Has anyone done this, or...
I have my first set of Rolls batteries installed in my 32v house bank and I have a question about servicing the water level. On the starboard side with 8v/195’s I use a water bottle that has a device that stops adding water when the level reaches the correct place. However the Rolls batteries...
