Anyone here or know of someone getting a Hatteras Convertible painted and windows at Saunders Yacht Works in Gulf Shores? I have seen a few posts of its progress on social media. I have the itch to do the same, but I just can't get comfortable with a yard. Thanks.
Well Hatteras did make a boat this year, don't you know someone was disappointed they didn't see 40 knots.https://www.denisonyachtsales.com/yachts-for-sale/70-hatteras-VIII?fbclid=PAY2xjawGqOCZleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABppWKrrHZKM2w5FISSgMws46-SIA0pjzvD6gaA28J4UpSnupj7R9zMyqnFw_aem_KTQZEVYc8NqirpO5OimoFw
I am not sure of any other way to watch this brief, three part series on Instagram. I would love to see a more in depth video.

I am currently having my Helm and Cockpit non-skid redone after a soft spot repair in the Cockpit. My original estimate and discussion with my contractor was to use a mixture of awlgrip fine and coarse. My request was for something that would not tear a bathing suit and or injure someone's...
1988 52c /// On my last survey it was mentioned that one of my rudders was slightly toed. Should they be exactly straight ahead? What is the procedure for aligning them? It looks like I could just loosen the collar and turn the rudder shaft and lock it back down? Are there any torque specs or...
I have a grease gun onboard my 52c with an almost empty marine grease cartridge installed. In my three years of ownership, I have yet to find a need for it??? Any ideas??
I hope the owners get every penny their asking. I have come to realize how hard it is to keep a old vessel maintained to a high standard, while completing modern updates that don't change the overall character of the...
Bilge check valves, Yes or No??
Currently replacing bilge pumps, and hoses.
1. One is in the forward bilge, usually a AC condensation drain sump.
2. 2nd is forward in the ER between the engines. Usually a AC condensation drain sump.
Should they be there or no?
I should have started this project earlier this winter, but it's now underway. I am pulling out my Vacuflush system and installing Raritan Marine Elegance Toilets and all new hoses and etc. I have a few questions.
1. Vent line is 1 1/4, what is the recommended hose since it's not a common...
While I am currently on top of my 4 1988 era Cruisair splits, I know I should have a long range plan for replacement. I have kept them running so far and have around 30lbs of R22 in reserve along with some stocked parts. I have SMXII controls. My salon unit is a large 24k unit with a an...
My STB transmission shifter has always required a heavy hand when operating it. Today I removed the cable at the transmission and made a small change in how it was routed right before the transmission. It made a huge improvement in its operating, but the reverse lever throw distance is...
I have always had a bad smell in the center ac drain sump box. I decided to replace pump, hose, lever, and clamps and investigate. I found a big glob of failing silicone under the pump and lever. After vacuuming as much of the solid black water out of the old holes, I am looking to repair. I...
My master stateroom has never smelled as fresh as the rest of the boat, and today while installing a Air Lock air quality unit I noticed two large holes open to a larger compartment under the bed. Shouldn't these be closed up? Thanks
Salon Heating and Cooling has stopped.
Sea Water flow is excellent, checked coming directly out of the unit. No Fault codes. Everything appears to be working properly but there is no cooling nor heating. Evaporator coils are clean. Reversing valve appears to be working. based on sound and...
