The model brochures list a wide variety of speeds and weight for the Hatteras 34 (1961-1965). Estimated cruise speed of 25-35 and topping out at 40 sounds good to be true for that generation. What kind of speeds are people seeing with gas inboards? What size prop?
Bit of a mid life crisis going on realizing that my Dad was winning the Bertram Hatteras Shootout at my age 35 years ago on a 65' Hatt and best I can do is some inshore fish off my Whaler. I'd like to start thinking of my next boat, which will be a forever family boat for extensive Bahamas...
Saw this on yachtworld and I was wondering what you guys thought about performance with the 6BT. Seems like a cool rig

My Dad passed away 2 weeks ago and I'm scouring the internet for old pictures of boats he used to Captain. The Rybovich and custom boats are easier to track down but the Hatteras not so much.
It's a long shot but if anyone has any pictures or info of the following rigs that would be greatly...
Cheapest I've seen, hoping to find this exact deal in 5 years from now when I retire!

I tried to find performance numbers on Pascals 53 MY but couldn't find anything, only that he was happy with the repower.
Plan on traveling 75% of the time at hull speed.
Particularly bad day in the office, day dreaming about the future....
Would a full displacement hull like the LRC handle towing a 27' ~6000# center console better than say a CPMY?
Starting to day dream about the next vessel to add to the fleet within the next 5 years. The goal is to find a seaworthy, easily maintained mothership for Bahamas/FL keys expeditions. I'm pretty handy and not afraid of a refit. The dream would be a Rybovich but $$$ and maintenance quickly takes...
