Help with DIY dry bilge system

I figured maybe someone familiar with wiring can help me on this. I am doing my "own" arid dry bilge system, with a sponge hooked to a hose that goes to a 12 dc pump, then goes to my gray water tank. I am using a water switch to serve as a relay from the water detector to the pump. I...

    Hatteras schematics

We all have access to the full boat schematics that either came with the boats, or can get from Sams. Unless I am missing it, the 2 schematics not included that would be helpful for DIY items, is one that shows pass throughs, or access to connections, from the salon up to the flybridge, and...

    wash down hose fittings

I am replacing the quick connect washdown bibs with regular wash down faucets. I removed the old one, and can't get a good connection with the connecting hose that goes into the boat. I have tried NPT male threaded adapters and MHT adapters, and neither work well. Does Hatteras use BSPT...

Return line on bilge pump check valve

I have these black lines that run from the check valve back to the sump/bilge all over the boat. They don't make sense to me as quite a bit of water goes through them back to the sump only to be shot out by the bilge pump a second time. Does anyone know why they are engineered that way?

    Headliner in a 2008

Has anyone removed the headliner in a newer hatteras? There is surprisingly little info (or videos) describing how to remove and reinstall. I am asking as I want to change some wiring without having to pay someone else to remove the headliner. It would have been nice if removeable panels...

    Updating salon/cabin lighting

I have researched this to death, but as the technology is constantly changing, I figured I would throw out this common question. I have a 2008 hatt GT 60. Was done right before everything switched to LED. So, I have 24-28vdc halogens throughout the boat. They produce a ton of heat, and...

    Hatteras 60 vs Viking 61

So, I just came out of a beautiful 62' custom sportfish with C32's. I need to focus on work for 6 months, then may want make a value play and go production boat for a few years, while my son is young and to help with cash flow. There is nothing performance wise better than what I just...
