    AC pump trigger workaround

I'm meeting a friend on his boat, and the AC RW pump is apparently not firing on either unit. I suspect bad triggers, but how can we wire the pump to stay on as a temporary fix in the relay box? Its a mid 80's hatt like ours. Thanks in advance.

    Shotgun Fuse mystery-advice please

In 10+ years of owning our Hatt, I have burned, not blown, two (2) 240 volt 50 amp shotgun fuses at the power inlet, both in the last 6 months in the same marina. After the first, I had a great mechanic/electrician replace the source 2 plugs with smartplugs. New cords, and use 2 when entire...

    Banging noise - help please

So we are at the dock, and have a noise that sounds like a tapping and banging door starboard aft, with a beam breeze today and almost no waves. I had a diver under the boat this week, and nothing. I have had the bed apart, and the drawers out and nothing moving. Swim platform brackets all...

    250 miles - issue free...Priceless

Love these boats. We just completed a trip with friends from Wilmington, NC to Savannah, GA in 3 days and approximately 250 miles. The dinner discussion after Day 1 offshore, on the hook near Georgetown, SC did not include any reference to the boat from two first time crew aboard. Priceless...

    Smart plug?

My 50 amp cord boot on the boat inlet side is ready for replacement. I thought an upgrade to a smart plug might be a good idea. Has anyone done this, and is It an easy replacement on the boat side? How are the waterproof properties?

    Managing a boatyard visit

Unlike many of the owners here, I did not have the skills or time to solve a rotten core section discovered on our flybridge last Fall. So I began the path of defining a scope of work and getting quotes from different yards. It became obvious pretty fast that I would have no protection on...

    Naiad model 252 help please

My pins got left in after a seal service, and I missed that because I was in a hurry. My fault. Got in a seaway and had a rough ride. It may not be relevant, but the bulb(s) no longer come on either. Now I'm going through a thorough check, and my pressure on the lower big gauge is only 800...

    Interior Fabric?

I agree the topic already sounds dumb, but the goal is to improve the admiral's happiness with the salon. The rest of the boat is fine. Apparently I failed with my last attempt (6 years ago), even though I got a designer to help. So here is the good news, the furniture selections are fine...

Need a new turbo in NC

All: I need 1 new(probably rebuilt to OEM specs) turbo for one of my 6V92 engines. Part #5106250 and serial#81980B0800 which is probably a Garrett. I haven't had to buy one of these, and am paying a mechanic to change it, so is probably cheaper to replace than try a field rebuild. I have...

    Water pump shutoff?

I have just replaced my AC freshwater pump for the 2nd time (Thanks Grainger - this one was free) because the water tank ran dry each time, while I was away from the boat. Once was a guest taking a princess shower, and the second time was my wife doing laundry. Admittedly, my water gauges are...

    Yale lock tumbler question

The salon door to the aft deck is locked shut. My energetic nearly 3 year old crew son has spun the dead bolt latch to the point of spinning. I ordered a new tumbler from Sam's today. So for the first time I tried to unlock the salon door from the aft cockpit, and either my pilot house key...

Our #2 gen is a kubota/phasor 12.5kw V1505-EBG Generator is Lima Electric 250 gold medallion12 lead 240 volt single phase; which runs fine for 2-4 hours, and then the 220 and 120 volt service flickers with a constant load-no breakers blow, and then the engine stumbles as it reloads. the 220...

    system monitor/water temp fault

We just moved the boat about 400+ miles and had the heat exchanger rebuilt on the port engine prior to departure. 200 miles or so into the trip, the water temp sensor on that engine went off, even though the engine was happy in the 160' range. the dumb question for you experts is: how to I...

    Bilge Pump Counter

During the current haul out the yard embarrassed me by letting me know that I had the small bilge forward of the port engine with some dirty water and a dead pump. My fault for not checking more diligently. As I thought about it, I remembered a 1000 mile voyage that I crewed on a sailboat that...

    Hynautic Lower Helm failure-Odd question

The lower helm seal failed, and lost all fluid and pressure. I have read the many threads on getting a seal kit or take to a reputable construction hydraulic shop for rebuild, and I had a kit put if for me on the upper helm a few years back for $250 or so. Since I usually have the admiral/my...
