As you see in this photo, the thin panel material is compromised. I'd like to get a washer behind
the button shaft to keep it from pushing through the panel. Does anyone know how to get the black
plastic button off?
I originally wanted this set up so I could re-live experiences from my first "big boat" ownership when
I was in my late teens. My pride and joy in those days was my 1964 wooden Pacemaker 36' flybridge sedan.
I kept that boat in Middle River, Md. A favorite weekend destination back then was...
I have this boat at my dock for sale. The overhead lights (see photos) seem to be AC powered, both controlled by a wall switch/slide dimmer. These lights have worked recently, but now they don't. Previous experience suggests that there is a combination of wall switches that control these lights...
This is not my listing. When the asking price recently dropped to $259K it caught my attention. I have been aboard a few times and I shot around 100 photos. She's a project, but as far as I can tell, it's mostly cosmetic. I'm happy to share my impressions if anyone is interested. If the Mods...
I have a 12,000 BTU Compressor in the engineroom on my 1966 Hatteras 41 TC. This split system unit runs the 4,000 BTU Evaporator in the Forward Stateroom, and the 8,000 BTU Evaporator in the Aft Stateroom. This past Saturday PM I noticed that this unit was pulling higher amperage than is...
The second Chinese Junque inverter has apparently died. The first one lasted 4 years, the second one not quite a year. I need 1000w inverter charger, pure sine wave, with automatic transfer switch. Is there anything not made in China?
I decided to pull the trigger on a pair of staple rails for my platform. We're not getting any younger and I am not as agile as I once was. This is an extension of "aging in place" that has been a recent protocol in our 2 residences. I think it will be nice to have a substantial rail to grab in...
All of the seacocks in my 1966 41 TC have been replaced with 1/4 turn ball valves except the ones for
the main engines. Those 2 are originals and are still in decent condition but - they are difficult to operate.
They have the rubber insides that have to be "decompressed" to turn the handles...
Does anyone know who owns this boat currently? She was sold in 2013 in Virginia as "My Emeralds".
I'm told she has changed hands again - maybe twice. Former name was "Moonbeam"
I have this nice framed photo that I would like to pass on to her owner. Anyone know her?
I saw this pop up this morning at this reduced price. Listing says one of the 8v92's has a blown head gasket. She looks fairly good otherwise. Says that the price is firm and she is as is at that number. I have NO connection to this boat!
A well respected Detroit Diesel Surveyor advised me that DD compression tests are performed with the engine at a minimum of 140 degrees, and running at 600 RPM's. If this is indeed correct, then a compression test performed with the engine at 100 degrees will yield incorrect readings. What say...
A Captain that does work for us stopped in my office today and in conversation mentioned that Broadus had passed away. I searched and found an obituary, so it seems to be true. I know he had done a lot of good work for some of you here. I hadn't seen this mentioned before so I thought I would...
The center knob is the fan speed control. The original was a 3 click version. It got to the point that the speed didn't really change much no matter what position. The 2 others aboard have been changed to the variable rheostat version. My AC guy changed this one out with a "good used". Fan speed...
Here is the vintage "stuff" that I recently replaced on my 1966 41 TC. Does anyone need any of this? The Genset selector switches are old but work fine. Make me an offer + shipping. I'd like some one to take all of it!
The old, the concept and the new panel being installed today. Upgrade includes changing from twin 30 Amp 125v service to a single 50 Amp 250v that splits to 2 125v panels - one for the House and one for the Air Conditioning. Included in this is the addition of an isolation transformer. We're...
I own the domain name 53Hatteras.com If you go to that url it currently redirects to my website and the (SOLD) specs for a 53 ED that I sold last Summer. I'm not currently using that domain for marketing and I would consider selling it. I use 41Hatteras.com for a personal website for my own...
Another HOF member is looking for a DD mechanic near Vero Beach that can do an 8v92 raw water impeller change on short notice. This afternoon would be great - tomorrow would work. Thanks in advance!
