Can you tell me what this is?

2000 75’ CPMY Hatteras. I can’t figure out what this is. It is bolted thru very well, strong enough to tow or be towed. Thought at first to hold a flag but the flag bracket is on the aft deck. The dia. Of the hole is 1 1/4” maybe. Just trying to figure the boat out. Thanks for any help.

Slowly putting the shiny parts back together

So now that we have the boat out of the shop I am trying to put all the hardware back on her. Going between buying new parts (many from SAMs) or having to refinish and re-chrome some. Just got my pilot house door handles back and now working on putting them together. I think when we are done...

Finally Out of the paint booth

Well after a couple of hurricanes, many work demands, and life in general we are finally out of the paint shop. (3 yrs in the shop! hard to believe) I wasn't certain we would make it out at times. We still have lots of parts to install on the boat but we are close to being done. The focus now...

    A victim of Florence

Guys, A friend of mine called me yesterday and said he has acquired a 1977 58 Yachtfish that is a victim of Florence. It was run up the cape fear and anchored. Apparently it rode out the storm but broke the anchor loose and settled to the side of the river. As the water receded it rested on its...

    Guys you ain’t seen nothing

Guys you ain’t seen nothing Sitting here in Monte Carlo all day on a 500 ft sailboat, watching all the 100-150ft private yachts dock. And those are the small ones, there are numerous 180-250 ft yachts here. They dock completely different from what we do and back these things in spaces that look...

Reviving the "Finally in the paint booth thread"

Well its hard to believe its been 2 1/2 yrs plus ..... but its true. Through a combination of my work distractions and the guys doing the work focusing on other projects the work stopped for the last 1 1/2 yrs, BUT, we are now making a push to get her back in the water in the next 2-3 months...

    Need ideas on team handrails

As we are nearing our retrofit completion I am working on the teak handrails. I have them off the boat and have routed a 1/2" wide by 1/4" deep channel in the bottom of the rail. I have installed a LED strip the full length of the rail. I was planning on using clear epoxy to fill in the gap and...

    Tell me why .........

you don't see any Hatteras in the BVIs or lower? We just spent the last nine days sailing from St Martin to Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda and St Bart. Lets just take the 150 Ft plus vessels and sailboats off the table and discuss why there were very few Hatteras while we saw several...

    A little Stainless Steel work

I've had trouble finding the stainless material to complete the boat work I'm doing (as well as someone to do it) so I thought I would have a go at polishing some stainless. I needed some 2 1/2" dia. pipes to hold up the dinghy supports and bought some stainless online but it was not polished...

Getting rid of a few things

I don't have the boxes to go with it as someone has taken those already. I also have several of the windows removed from the boat. All I have left are the rear master...

Your thoughts and input on a monitoring and control system

The guys here at work have wanted to rip apart the boat since I got it in 2012 to install a control and monitoring system. I am not a big fan of a "fly-by-wire" system and like the original gauges with wires and cables connected to my engines and tank systems. However while we are out for paint...

    Another Rayline Serachlight thread

Hi All, Thought I would ask the group for help and get us focused on fixing boat parts and distracted from the whining and bitching going on lately. What is this? I am rebuilding my Rayline searchlight and have found replacements for most of the internal parts but I need to know what this...

    Early Christmas

I was working in Morehead and Beaufort yesterday and the paint shop texted me that they had sprayed the hull. I was so excited that I cancelled a couple of appointments and went over to see the boat. When I got over there no one was working and building was closed. Talk about a bummer. Called...
