903 heat exchanger”radiator” fitting for cap damaged.
It is cut all most completely off at the surface of the steel tank. Recommendations range from epoxy,
silver solder or brazing. Everyone wants tank removed. Fifty year old bolt removals seems like a
nightmare of problems.

My 48 year old battery cables are failing. I cannot find what the amperage draw on my Delco Remy starter is. The run from 8 D batteries to starter is about 12 feet. My mechanic feels like 4 0 is unnecessary and probably2 0 would suffice. Any info would be greatly appreciated
I have 2 8D batteries on port side for starting a 903 Cummins. Seems like over kill. The boat is only used when temperatures are above 60 degrees. Starboard side also has two but they are house batteries as well as for starting starboard motor. Any opinion?
I have removed the rudders. I cannot drive the bearing out from the top. The threaded piece for the tightening not covers the top of the bearing. Any ideas?
I currently have foam filters that fit around the filter cage but they are beginning to fall apart. The new ones ordered at a local Cummins dealer were in as poor shape as the ones I have. This leads me to believe they were old and are not being produced any more. Does anyone have an idea on...
My Capitol transmission(somewhat rare counter rotating) on a Cummins 903 is beyond repair. I am considering a Twin Disk replacement. Has anyone done this and how did it work out?

Has anyone found a suitable gunnel mat for 70`s version 42` Hatteras? Without the completely flat gunnel like a Ocean Yacht I am unsure about the traditionally found mats
There is a small spring that pushes against each of the metal balls in head. While screwing the cover back in I managed to ruin the spring. They look like the springs found in retractable ball point pens. I assume the strength of the spring is important in the operation of the balland seat. Any...
Does anyone know where I can find the approximately 1/2" rubber bases for my 903s? They have been compressed over time and split horizontally. Alignment? uh oh
I am having a turbo repaired and the tech needs the engine CPL number. I have not been able to find it. Should be a four digit # or 3 numbers preceded by a zero. Any idea where to look?
The gasket at the bracket is leaking exhaust into the engine room and the overall appearance of that half of the turbo a rusted mess. After I remove the turbo I need a place to take/send it for service or parts. Any ideas(especially in New England area)
I have thermostats of indeterminate age but at over 10 years old . I was thinking that I should change them. Please tell me where they are. Early 1970s vintage.
