    Ethical Question

The dock master should be able to convince the other boat to accept a slip reassignment. One dosen't own a slip.

Raw water intake hose - debacle of the day

The drilling a hole idea holds alot of merit. Especially on a 2 1/2" nipple. It can be angled enough to avoid interference and still allowing good power.

Raw water intake hose - debacle of the day

I agree with the concern of using a Smoke wrench in small areas with combustible material everywhere and a minimal egress. Extreme caution and a good ABC fire extinguisher are NECESSARY. Confidence, not being cocky, in ones ability is needed. Pandoras Box should be left to others before bigger...

Raw water intake hose - debacle of the day

Are you trying to take the nipple out of the valve? A heat wrench should help. Be sure to hold back on the valve to prevent it from turning and creating a leak below. Another trick is to cut it with a Sawzall then make a relief cut down inside the nipple JUST TO THE THREADS NOT ALL THE WAY...

    Blower motor

Check with an Amp meter. A simple clamp style meter isn't that expensive and will save alot of $ on parts and aggravation. JMO

    83 55c in St Augustine

Looking to put about 4 years of time into renovations, interior, nav electronics, genset, etc. I'd like something that has reliable power for now. Maybe a rebuild on a DD or repowering with new or factory reman down the road. It's gotta have good bones.

Can you help identify this item

When docking along poles tie 2 fenders to a rail then tie the Bumper Board to the rail outside the fender points. The board should lay along the pole allowing the boat to be protected by the fenders

    83 55c in St Augustine

That was me. I was wondering if she has been storm damaged and put back together. Some of the boats I've been looking at are basket cases. I don't have a problem putting work into something, mechanical and cosmetic, to make it mine. Just dont want to be to far upside-down to start. Thanks for...

    Info on a 55c

Thank you for the offer. The picks on the Yacht World listing aren't terrible but the description tells a different story. I might make a long weekend out of flying down and putting eyes on it.

    Info on a 55c

Email me if posting public is not desired. I respect that. Lenrempeinc@aol.com Im looking for a boat to eventually be able to escape NE winters on, and be comfortable. Hatteras, Bertram, and Viking are all very solid and great boats.

    1980 53c

I'm going to look at a 1980 53c in a couple of weeks. I believe there are a couple 12v71ti's in her. Do not have much information on the condition or engine hours. There hasn't been many conversations on the convertable but a lot on the MY. Is there anything I should keep an eye open for?
