    NAIAD Support

It's always easy to spout off about a bad experience with a system vendor. I had such a positive experience with the NAIAD folks in CT, that I couldn't let it go un-advertised. NAIAD went above and beyond to help solve my issue, and I am well pleased with the experience. NAIAD makes a great...

    Small Problem!

Preparing to install new washer/dryer. I replaced 2 blowers, one of them a 32vdc generator exhaust blower. It worked fine, but later started tripping the breaker immediately on start up. I traced the problem to a "hot" motor case. If I take the grounding strap off, the blower works fine. Touch...

    New.Washer Dryer

Well it wasn't easy, but the old W/D is out! It was surgery with a Sawsall. I'm going back with the Bosch Axis stack. Not looking forward to lugging them downstairs. The upside is that I can finally replace the generator room vent blower, and it is 115v. I'll feel better when its in.

    12v71 cold weather starts

I stared my engines yesterday for the 1st time in a couple of weeks. The engine room temp was high 30's. Both started after about 20 seconds of cranking. Is that a normal cold weather start. In warm weather, they start close to the first rotation.

    AC Thermostat Control

I am looking forward to Spring, and over the winter, I want to upgrade my heat and air systems. I have 7 Cruisair's in sizes from 7 to 16k btu's. They all use an old Honeywell wall thermostat controls. The compressors are WHAF type, and condensers say EBOP. I checked Dometics website, and it...

    Fixed exhaust tube leak

Knock on wood, but I think my drip from the port exhaust tube is fixed! I drained the water tank, which is behind and above the master stateroom bed. The 2000 lbs weight reduction raised the aft enough to cut the water source, then I used West Gflex epoxy to wet out fiberglass cloth and applied...

    stabilizer Question

One of my goals after buying the boat, was to have dry bilges. I'm 99% there, but I have a sponge full a day accumulating in the port side stabilizer compartment. I'm assuming they need new seals. I don't think its a DIY, in the water project like the stuffing boxes, but could somebody who's...

At least there is some good news

Had a chance to let the big dogs air out coming back from Tennessee's abysmal loss to Alabama. I firmly believe this boat will hit 20 knots after bottom paint and prop tuning. Not bad for a 100,000 lbs boat! This is 2300 rpm.

    krisper in cabinet

Hi all, one of my kitchen cabinets has a "crisper", or small heater rod in it. It seems to stay hot all the time. I pulled the fuse for it to shut it down, but is there a switch for it somewhere? Thanks

    Insurance Recommendations

Hi, I'm looking for a povider recommendation for a Liability Only insurance policy on my Hatteras. I got a quote from Boat US, but it seems very high considering the boat is in a covered slip on the Tennessee River surrounded by high ridges on 3 sides.. and in more than 30 years of boat...

    AC/Heat question

Well, it's that time of year.. starting to get into the 50's. I was checking to make sure all my cruiseair's were making heat. I have a couple that don't want to cooperate! (1987 63MY) They make AC fine. The thermostats are old Honeywell units, and there is NOT a place to swap from AC to heat...

I just got a new toy! It's a 13' Boston Whaler Dauntless. Now the hard part. I already have the cradle for the boat on the roof of my 63MY... Now I have to lift the Dauntless. Where does one purchase the lifting strap/cable harness?? The Whaler has very nece lift points inside the boat, and I...
