    Bear Alert!

Seriously folks, it's time to quit feeding the Bears. I know, they look cute and cuddly and you want to help. If you feed them, they only keep coming back until they become quite the nuisance. Bears are incapable of higher level thoughts and actions and only hang around for the hand outs. So do...

    Parallel Switch

I had the need to use the parallel switch this weekend. My starbord battery bank is dying, which explains some other issues. On my model, 87 63 MY, the switch works by tilting toward the bank that needs a boost. I've never had the need to use the switch before, and when both battery banks are...

    Security System

I find it necessary to add a formal security system to the boat. I want something the has the traditional outside load alarms, but also something that takes low light night pictures/videos and automatically uploads to the cloud or remote server, and remote viewing over phone/ipad. It must be...

    Destin Trip Recap

Safely back in the slip. Ran a little less than 2100 miles, and burned 1,964 gallons. Most of the trip was between 900 and 1,000 rpm's, and 8.3 kts. The fuel burn was aided by a swift current going down the TennTom, and a mild current coming back. Used (dripped) 2 gallons of oil. We did have...

    Bad Day

Just tied at the Wharf in Orange Beach. On one of the shore power lines I show 0 hertz and 100volts. Swapped the line to a known good, same issue. Put a new end on the cord a few month back.. could it be a loose wire?

    Dockside water hook up

I hooked up to dockside water for the first time. I have pressure water to the inlet, but nothing from the faucets, etc. Is there a valve that needs to be switched? Looking at the plumbing, it appears to go from the inlet to a pressure regulator, then out to the systems... Could the pressure...

    tank guage

On my 63MY, the manual says I have two fuel tanks. The boat blueprints show 3 centerline tanks aft of the holding tank. There are two fuel guage that go with the 1st and 2nd tank located outside of the aft guest stateroom door. In the master there is another floor mounted guage above the third...

    parallel switch

Quick question... on the parallel switch, it's labeled port and starbord. Do you tilt the toggle toward the good side or the bad side to boost the bad side. Example, starbord battery bank low, tilt the parallel switch to the port side? Thanks

    Dishwasher drain line

Does anybody know the routing of the dishwasher drain line on an 87 63MY. It dissappears behind the galley up cabinets. There is a 3 line manifold in the port ER, but its not one of them. I dont see a dedicated outlet on the hull, and I assuming it uses a grey water outlet.. Anybody know? Thanks...

    New Dishwasher

For what it's worth... Just bought a new dishwasher to replace the OEM model in my Modern Maid galley combo unit. To the bottom of the cooktop is 33 1/8 inches inside. I bought an LG lds5040st. It is 33 5/8 at the front facia, but drops to 33 inches before the cooktop drops. So it should fit...

    New Fridge

Got a Samsung RF197ACRS for the boat. With the doors off, it's 24 1/4 deep. I've got a galley up 63MY. Which would be easier, go through the galley window, or take out the door frame between the salon and the galley? Anybody been there, done that?
