Good site for a look at the lake:

This video from 08 showed some good waves. The pier looks a bit different now that they removed the catwalk.

I see our Prez has just signed on to this deal to phase out more refrigerants. What now for our A/C units? It looks like the alternatives will be hydrocarbons like propane. I sure wouldn't want a leak of propane in my boat.
Haul out time:
Its a sad day up here in the great white north especially when its 81 degrees and sunny. It just doesn't seem right to be putting the boat away.
I wanna do this. I always thought QSM11 610hp would be the way to go, but you can't argue with the performance numbers claimed with these QSC 540's.

I put a rebuild kit in my steering cylinder last winter. It looked like it was going to be fine, but then started leaking again over the summer. Not bad as I never had to add any oil to the system but it did have a slow leak.
This time I sent it to the hydraulics shop. They honed the...
I have seen a couple of these boats in person. One belonged to one of the Busch family of anheuser-busch. The components look top notch, but that twin keel is really odd. I understand trying to protect the running gear but the rest of the bottom seems quite flat. I wonder how they ride. It...
I replaced all of mine when I bought the boat in 2004 as the plastic knobs were all broken. Now I just broke another one. Seems like a weak point. I see the new 2303A switch has a different knob on it. Is it any better?
old one
new one:
Apparently, the answer is YES.
I just changed mine yesterday in anticipation of launch on Thursday. Then I purchased another new pair to have on hand. And, yes, Amazon still has the best price at $59 and free shipping.
Here are some pics I took last week on Lake Superior for you Floridians. The ice was so think in Whitefish Bay that there were about a dozen freighters stuck there. One was damaged and had to partially unload. Several of the Canadian and US icebreakers are out of operation for repairs. These...
Today we cut and hinged my Marquipt Arch. It was actually an easier job than I anticipated. We cut it with a Skillsaw with a metal cutting blade, then welded on the hinge and plates on inside to stiffen it all up. Just some grinding and fairing left and then new paint.
Here are some pics of my boat in the paint booth. It was time to repaint the stripes. I'm going with orig.inal Hatteras blue. They shot the primer today.
