I seriously doubt a clean up will cure it.

I also stuffed my bag with Hatt brochures as a kid. My dad stored his 43DC in the winters at a big Hatteras dealer. In the showroom they had a rack with all of the brochures. I would grab whatever I could. And at boat shows too.

I've never heard it referred to as a "chunk" either, only cartridge. And I've been in the trucking business all of my life with in-house mechanics rebuilding diesels. I used to do the parts run as a kid. But, I never lived in the Florida swamps either.

AGM's would be my last choice. I have never had a good experience with AGM's. Over the years, I have had wet lead/acid and Gel Cells, and both did the job, but every AGM I had died early. Never again. I won't buy them.

You'll probably need dual gauge sending units to run two sets of gauges.

Float style gauges will not work in a black tank. They get fouled and stick. The best I've found for a black tank is a Hart Tank Tender. I tried a resistance type that was inside of a pvc pipe but that only lasted a couple of years.
