Friends of mine are looking at a 38 hatt and 37 Bertram. Both late 80s early 90s vintage, good overall shape.
Th big difference are 450hp 692 in the Bert vs 485hp 671 in the hatt don't have the full mechanical history yet but needless to say the 485hl is a concern...
Any real world...
After 2 1/2 years, we finally took the new boat for sea trial yesterday. Even though this is not an hatt I know there are quite a few sailors who may find this interesting...
It all started with a blank sheet of paper, and a notepad full of sketches and ideas. We wanted a day sailor with a big...
There are some great spots to visit between Staniel and Gtown which most people completely overlook usually limiting themselves to the typical Normans, highborne, warderick wells, Staniel run...
Here are a few of our favorites
This is rudder cay, just about 25nm south of Staniel. Nice...
This was posted elsewhere, happened yeast day at sailfish marina in WPB
Witnesses reported that one engine (MTU) stalled and the other one went to full power. controls and shut down switch would not work. Boat partially sunk and had to be re floated / pumped
Trip nr 2 to the exumas in the past couple of months and with the BTC Samsung galaxy ace I bought back in December
This is definitely the way to go for those traveling to the Bahamas...
I had refilled the prepaid account online by CC before leaving (no more hunting for $20 scrtach cards...) so...
Astondoa is a Spanish yacht builder for those who are wondering...
Someone takes whoever designed that thing out on deck and make them walk the plank. No, just have them check the chain lock in 3' seas.
This is a brand new Astondoa 72 fly. Aesthetics asides (not a bad looking boat overall if...
Not a Hatt, but the lesson applies...
today anchored in Normans cay, and about ready to head to Staniel... As i usually do, I fire up the big Cats (1400hp 3412Es) from the ER... Stbd fires right up, impeller cover cools off. Port too but I keep hearing a noise... Sounds like an electric motor...
We have a nice booster on the boat (wave Rogue) but in some places wifi is just poor. Nassau for instance is terrible as none of the marinas offer free service even Atlantis charges $15 a day (at least the last time I was there). All the pay services as unreliable and I ve been burned a few...
Here is some sunshine and cristal blue water for those stuck up north :)

Shot this yesterday, perfect conditions on the bank between Gun and Chub!
Even though this was not an issue on Detroits but 1400hp Cat 3412Es, it could happen on any diesel so I figured I d post here too
For the past few months, I ve noticed the stbd tranny running a little warmer than the port at low speed only but 15 59 20 deg. On plane, temp would come down and...
We often gripe about poor customer service and tech support... We often see report of companies not supporting products after a few years and forcing you to buy a new one at a slightly reduced list price, often close to on line discounted prices.
One of the manufacturer which doesn't play these...
For the third time in two weeks, I ve had an air con whisper to me ... "sssshhhhh"
Each time they were still cooling but upon checking didnt have enough water flow either due to a strainer filled faster than normal, blockage in a dischrge line or like tonight blockage in the coil
So next time...
Since Bimini is a popular destination for some HOF members I figured i d post this update...
The two large G and R buoys at the channel entrance are still there but the sandbar on the green side is rapidly expanding into the channel. Do not rely on last tracks, do not cut the corner, read the...
This happened this week end at Bimini Big Game. Those familiar with Bimini know that the current can really rip there being the narrowest spot in the channel.
A 40/45 Post was slipped stern to the dock, with the current flowing into the slip. For some reason, the driver choose to back out of...

I wonder if it will help revive Bimini, the ferry service might. Among the blows to Bimini in the past 10 years, the demise of chalk's was probably the worst.
Rarely used, like new, 60lbs plow with SS swivel
Davis are similar to Deltas and are standard OEM on many new boats
$250 for HOF members
