The lower starboard side AC circuit is tripping. Boat was modified 10 years ago and each AC circuit now has its own GFCI. Has worked flawlessly until this week. We have been looking for wiring faults, bus bar faults, lighting faults, corrosion at power outlets faults but are yet to find a...
We had so much old carpet, underlay plus the old armchair that a barge carried it all off. The upholsterer met us at the boat ramp and took the furniture.
New planks arriving in the marina tender. Each box was about 60lbs.
Laying planks... we used the straight edge of the cocktail...
The carpet planks chosen have a nice feel under bare feet. Not hard. Not unpleasant. If you rub bare knees against the grain you will definintly feel its texture. But no issues when lying on the floor.
The old carpet was toast. It stank when weather was humid. New planks do not retain...
After nearly 8 years of owndership we are getting to the interior cosmetics. All the carpet was toast and smelt. The lounges were tired.
There has always been duscussion about carpets and flooroards on this forum. I went a different way and lay down commercial carpet planks. They are...
I am wishing to purchase a RIB tender to go up on the rear flybridge deck.
I have seen a newish Williams 325 jet tender for sale and 640lbs dry weight.
I am wondering if this may be too heavy for the davit/lboat lean/ease of use?
My wheelhouse port throttle control has started leaking out the shaft that connects to the control arm. (Six years ago a similar thing happened to another control and was fixed by the seller.)
There is still supply of the seal kit but the very brief response from the seller was
"The ECS-06...
So the Marquipt davit is being rennovated at the same time the dinghy chocks are being repositioned on the back flybridge deck.
The davit has not been used often in the seven years we have owned the boat. Mechanically and electrically its fine, but we will replace the wire with dyneema...
Thanks for the input. Boat is being slipped for antifoul tomorrow and a few shipwright things which include repositioning the old dinghy cradles. You will see in the photo one of the cradles bow stern.
I've just been up to the flybrdge deck and it will take a 12'-13' RIB port-starboard...
We are about to buy a 10'-12' RIB and refix / repositioning old aft flybridge deck pad eyes and deck cradles.
When we got the boat the original cradles were bow stern with 25hp motor, but motor overhanged the cockpit and visually not a good look as you climbed the cockpit stairs.
Would there...
I've killed yet another set of port side lead acid batteries through leaving lights on. Another time a float switch malfunctioned and the batteries never recovered. And Covid lockdown absence killed another set. Aghhhhh.
There has to be a modern day way to disconnect the house DC load from...
I wish to update the cable for the Marquip davit on the boat and also look at swapping out the motor from 120 V to 240 V. I have previously installed a brake service kit.Could you please tell me whether I should replace with stainless wire, a high-tech rope, or a strap?Where would I find a...
Checking over the engines today I've noticed two spots of verdigris on two different parts of the intercoolers.
The first gasket / repair looks to be removing the top cover of the forward intercooler.
The second gasket / repair seems to be removing the rear cover of the aft intercooler...
The old Robertson autopilot works great and does everything we need.
However it seems quite twitchy making small adjustments every few seconds. The pump is located above the wheelhouse so we hear it.
I've read the manual several times but am unable to work out how to reduce the "twitch."...
Thanks Osprey,
The port engine throttle lever bolt has now been modified. The spring had to be well backed off until it fell off the grooved roller on the leaver.
The port side seems to have the Hynautic control master control valve which feeds the old Glendenning synchroniser in the...
The mechanic who tuned the engines last year said the position of the bolt and spring on the rocker that attaches to the throttle cable was incorrect in his opinion.
If the cable snapped, the motor would go to full throttle as the spring pulled back.
Unfortunately the mechanic has moved...
Thanks for photo of Schrader valve.....So what are the valves on our condensers called? They seem to have two parts... a shoulder that turns (and where bubble leak is) and the neck which also turns.
