    Wanted: Closet Doors

The closet doors on my 53MY were MIRRORED and they glued the mirrors on, there is no hope of removing the mirrors. I would like to buy another set, in the original wood finish. Thanks! Oh, I'm in the greater Annapolis, MD area.

    Ideal Windless, chain capstan slips

I still have the old OEM windless on Saraswati. Last time I tried to use it, the chain capstan would turn a bit, but under any load it would slip (it stayed still, motor and rope capstan turn fine). I had to pull up the chain & anchor by hand and using the rope capstan. Anyone got a tips before...

    Hatt 53 Hull #1 - "Classic Barbie"

Anyone got the low-down and information on her? My broker called me and is going to be listing her and would like as much info as possible. Sounds like she has fallen on some hard times. I think he's planning on listing her around $80,000.

    CruiseAir Countdown?

So, need AC for the first time this year. Took the boat out yesterday and had a nice ride. Whenever I get back from a ride, getting the pump to prime has been a pain. I have to open up a priming spigot FAST, get it primed and close it before the unit shuts down. I usually have to do this...

    Water Wetter?

Anyobdy ever used Red Line's Water Wetter coolant addative with a DD? I know it actually WORKS with car engines...brings down water temps by 10-20*F with no changes other than adding it. They claim: * Reduces or eliminates bubbles or vapor barrier that form on hot metal surfaces to reduce...

    Another shed MIGHT come down

The shed here at Hartge's is in major trouble and it would not surprise me if it comes down or if the building inspector condemns it. After the first February blizzard they discovered one beam nearly cracked in half (big crack). They put up a wooden support pole (4x4) to brace it...then had to...

    Trim Tab Size?

Anyone know the size of the tabs that came on a 53MY (circa 1980)? I'm trying to keep an eye pealed for a used set that is the same width but longer fore/aft to increase the lifting area (to get a bit more bow down). Or may look into having custom ones made.

    Night Vision Scope/Goggles?

Not sure if this belongs here on in the sandbar. Anyone have/use a set of night vision goggles or a mono-scope? How do you like it? Any recommendations for an inexpensive one? Ive heard good things about some of the Russian military surplus ones.

GM Heads Overflowing Even With Thruhulls Closed!

Boat is WAY LOW in the water due to the weight of 15" of HEAVY WET snow (a lot more to come). We're clearing the show as best we can. I'm thinking the water is flowing through the pumps somehow...so I closed the thruhulls/intakes...and its still coming in. HELP!

    Tiffany Yacht Burned Down!

Tiffany Yachts at Glebe Point on the Great Wicomico River in Virginia burnt down yesterday. Tiffany is a three generation yacht builder (excellent yachts). They are also an excellent repair facility on the Chesapeake Bay. Two of the three main buildings down by the water are gone. They lost...

    Any HOFers at Herringon Harbor?

We're considering leaving Hartge's and moving to Harrington Harbor. Its quite a bit more expensive but seem MUCH nicer...resort like rather than a simple marina/yard. But I'd like to get opinions. Thoughts?

    56MY Series II

EDIT: Ugh, so there's no such thing as a Series II...but the questions remain the same for the series 1... Any owners on here? Comments on them? How common are they and how do they compare to a 1510 series like a 53MY? I would think they are massive by comparison. How are they for maneuvering...

30+" of snow, is the weight a problem?

So, we're in the middle of a real blizzard. Winds gusting to 40, and we have 12-14" on the ground and are expecting a total of 24-36". I woke up this morning to a boat that was listing about 5*, maybe a bit more (see pic, the camera was level). It was disconcerting. I soon figured out that the...

    A mouse in the house.

So...seems we might have a mouse or other rodent living on the boat. We can hear is scurrying around and munching on things. It seems to stay in the stern port corner of the salon. Like as if it was living in the wet bar or somewhere around there. We looked in the storage areas of the wet bar...
