What do you think about this idea. I have an extra valve/port on my oil exchange pump. Connect output hose from the pump to the zinc port on the outboard side of my heat exchanger, input hose in the pail of phosphoric and the return hose to the pail from the zinc port just north of the raw water...
My galleymaid pump works fine but has lost it's bladder (waterlogged) and the pump is cycling too often. I figure I will add a shurflo or jasco in line but what size? 1 liter? How do you figure?
Thanks
Hal
Quick question, I hope. I am adding some mechanical oil pressure gauges to my 671TIs and I have had to add some brass fittings to fit them all in. Can I use teflon tape or is there some other sealant to use?
Thanks Hal
If anyone has them as well as sending units that will work on a 1979 37C with 671 TIs. Water temp, oil pressure, gear pressure, battery.
Thanks Hal

1. Galley Maid fresh water pump on a 1979 37C. Worked fine at the May startup, then no suction - ran dry? Insalled a new rubber stator and suction is fine up to 32lbs pressure and holds. Upon use water flows but sputters at around 20 lbs for a while untill and just...
Looks like our 37Cs are having tranny issues!

1979 37C Over propped?
I finally found my notes from my sea trial with my mechanic in early July. He indicated the boat got out of the hole and ran great and a prop change was not necessary but you tell me. I have a tuna tower (eventuall will remove it)and was 3/4 full of water, fuel ect.
We...
Changing the oil on 6-71TIs in a 1979 37c hat, the capitol gears and a NL generator. All use SAE 40. Last change lubriplate was used although i can't find it easily now. People seem to recommend Shell Rotella t. Where do you find it. Even Walmart has Rotella in 30wt but not 40wt. Quoted $68 for...
Hello All
My engine sync stopped. When I pull out the switch, no light and of course I can not advance the slave. Is there a fuse somewhere? I can't find anything obvious.

37C w/ 7-71TIs
Our 1979 37C has 16" gauges in the two diesel tanks that measure 20.5" deep(80%). As a result when the tank is half full it reads 1/4" ect. I suspect it reads pretty acurately when it is on plane. Is 16" origional. Do any 37C owners know what they have? By the way the length is listed on the...
37C temp gauge What do the Hash marks mean?
What does the hash mark represent between 180 and 220 on my 100-220 ac gauge? 200?( see below) Is the first hash mark between 100 and 180- 140? My 6-71TI have been running at 180 or less since the entire cooling system was redone. Sunday on our return...
I just replaced my radar with a Furuno 1942 Mark-2 6kW very nice unit. I need to replace the Garmin 215 GPS tied into Raychart 620. Although the Raychart's size is nice I do not have confidence in either unit. I am looking for a single station GPS chartplotter. Does anyone have experience with...
I acknowledge the earlier threads re fixing the o-ring on the steering shaft, I have red fluid leaking at the Helm. It is going to be interesting (very tight) working in there.
What size ring do I get and would someone mind describing just what I do to fix it. I assume I depressureize the...
I am having difficulty with a decision that may seem obvious to many of you and would appreciate input.
Our 1979 37C has a Garmin 215 GPS in the cabinet above(no longer supported by Garmin for charts) and a raytheon radar 2403 in the cabinet to the left that ocassionally will not zoom down from...
