    Hot water heater

Here's the neutral wire that fell out of the electrical tape when I started probing the electric feed to my hot water heater. The ground wire was also clamped to a copper water pipe.

Are You Changing Your Boating Habits?

I haven't changed my boating habits. I'm in exactly the same place as I was before the coronavirus. And watch how you throw around "sides". I might start thinking you aren't on my side, and I'm sure that's not true.

    CO2 Fire Extinguisher

I'm jealously eying all this potentially usable space. Would I be foolish to get rid of this system? It was last certified in 1995.

    Annapolis Maryland Summer Cruise

In Maryland you can go out to exercise, to go to the grocery and to go to work if you are deemed an essential business. Residential construction is deemed an essential business. I've been to DC, Maryland and Virginia today. The traffic is very light. I scored 18 rolls of toilet paper at the...

    Quarantine induced boredom reducing videos

It's been a while, but I used to like to take mine around corners. I'm 36.

    NORMA Hose Clamps

Does anyone have any feedback on NORMA non-perforated stainless steel hose clamps? 10 packs are sold quite reasonably on Amazon and I have quite a few clamps that could stand to be replaced.

This is the 3rd different lockset that has been installed in this door so there were extra holes that had to be filled.

    Morning funny

I've done a little of that myself. A quick stop at the dollar store at dusk.

    Small Projects

We are having a similar problem. There are water stains under the windows. We've been cleaning the finish off with green Scotch Brite pads and denatured alcohol and applying Jel'd Poly Kote with a rag and it's just not working well at all. The water stains are whitish. Stain turned them...

Winter Service, Injector re-build re-tip, coolant filter add

Thanks for this thread. The coolant filters really appeal to me. I'm going to copy you.

    Small Projects

Pulled out the water filters a couple of weeks ago and found this. The up side is that this area will be beautiful when I'm done and that will be very satisfying.

    Small Projects

A friend is refinishing my salon door in his shop and installing the new mortise lock set. I love making progress that I don't have to physically do myself. It's like a bonus.

    DC Electrical Upgrade

I'm still working on my electrical upgrade and I have a long way to go. While I had the generator battery and generator muffler out and the forward battery bank vacant it gave me access to an area that is normally very difficult to get to, so I thought I'd clean it up and paint it, but it...

    New Helm Seats

    An improvement I think.

    Isotemp Water Heater Size

I'm going down a rabbit hole with my electrical upgrade. I'm making space for a new battery charger and I'm replacing my large accumulator tank with a mini tank. "While I'm in there" I'm thinking of making more space for a second charger by replacing the hot water heater with either a 6.4...

    Coupling Old Copper Fuel Lines

I have heard from a number of people that the 47 year old copper fuel and water lines are brittle and can not be flared. I would like to clean up the generator fuel supply and return lines which would require mating them to rubber lines. What is the best way to do this? Can I slide a rubber...

    Small Projects

I've found that it's very helpful to have small, easy to finish little projects going at the same time as the bigger, more frustrating projects. It's satisfying to get at least something finished no matter how small it is. I have the door off for new hardware and refinishing.

    DC Electrical Upgrade

I have an 8K Westerbeke generator, but I didn't picture it because it isn't involved in the upgrade. Another scenario I've considered is making the thruster bank larger and hooking the inverter to it. Adding another shunt would allow it to be monitored by the SG200 as well. It's the scenario...
