What year did Hatteras start making the 58 with an 18 foot beam?

I looked at one in St. Pete Beach on Treasure Island last night. I am worried the exhaust pipes through the main cabin to the stern are original. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to examine them. I like the boat and want to submit an offer but am worried that the exhaust is original.

I'm wondering if I gave the wrong information to someone, they asked me about replacing their 8V92TI's and I told them to look at Caterpillar. I seem to remember the C32 being a good replacement. I'm partial to Cats so of course I recommended them, any thoughts?
