    For the computer saavy

I am truly a novice when it comes to new technology...and need some help. My wife is into baking, and rather than her bringing the laptop into the kitchen and getting it covered in flour or whatever...does anyone know if there is a wireless monitor out there? I could mount it right on the...

I need a vacation after all this!

Well, taking lessons from Yachtsmanbill, I have taken pictures throughout my entire haulout process. I planned on coming out for some thru-hull replacement, shaft hose replacement, and bottom paint. 51 days later, I ended up with new shafts, ALL new thru-hulls, seacocks, cutlass bearings...

    Props wanted / needed

I am looking for a pair of propellers for my 45C, 2" shafts... 26X26 is what I can calculate would be best for me. If anyone has a pair of these, I am certainly interested in them. I am located in Melbourne, FL, can pickup anywhere in FL, or ship from anyplace. Thanks, Jason

    Diesel is starting to hurt!!!

I made a call to the local fuel dock here to check on the price of diesel fuel. Much to my surprise, their price as of 3pm today was $3.89/gal + tax, which here is 6% (FL East Coast, Melbourne), so the total gallon price is $4.12!!! Can anyone tell me why I shouldn't buy on-road diesel at...

    Stuffing box questions....

I have spent the past four hours reading prior posts on this subject, and I still have some questions. I am planning on hauling out in a few weeks, and have some issues to address with the stuffing boxes. My port stuffing box is constantly leaking, at a steady rate, and to tighten the nuts...

Countertop from the bathroom / head out of '69 45C

I have the original formica countertop out of the bathroom of my 45C. It's in fair condition...some cleaning up, and it would be fine. I replaced with Corian, and this needs to find a good home. I can take pics if you need. Any offer is a good offer.

Upper Vanity Cabinet out of '69 45C

I removed the upper vanity cabinet from the head, and in the process got arrgravated, so the formica needs to be replaced, and the door is gone...but it's still the right shape for the job. I can take pics for anyone interested. Make me an offer (ANY offer). Jason

Head / Bathroom sink out of '69 45C

I removed the white rectangular cast iron sink from the head of my 45C. It has mounted to it what I believe is the original faucet. It has the trim ring around it, but it's dented from me removing it. Make me an offer...it's heavy to ship, but if you need it, I can find a box/crate to get...

    A hard to find screw

I had Slane Marine build me fiberglass spray rails (below the cockpit) to replace the original mahogany ones that were damaged in the storms a few years ago. In order to mount them to the boat, they need to be bolted through the hull...so for that, I'm using 1/4X20 4" SS flat head bolts with...

    Granite countertops

I was going to post this in the bathroom ideas post, but thought it could use a new thread. I am in the process of renovating the bathroom of my '69 45C, and have decided to replace the original formica countertop with granite (or some type of solid surface). Has anyone installed granite in...

    '66 41' Owners manual anyone??

For those of you with a 41 Twin Cabin, I saw this on eBay and thought someone may be in need of it. 1966 Hatteras 41 Twin Cabin Yacht Owners Manual, here's the link. $10 bucks seems cheap if you're without one...or happen to have that EXACT hull number...

    Another story of balsa rot

Another case of balsa rot Ok, so I was removing my rod holders today to prepare for painting and guess what? Balsa rot. So, I took a small prybar and got out what rotted core there was, and it extends approx a fingers length around the rod holder holes (so I can tell). So...Now what? I...

Ball valves needed for main intakes

I am planning on hauling out in August, and will be replacing my ball valves on the main engine intakes. The ones I have now are original (I think) and are the gate valves which are now seized open. No matter how much Blaster I spray them with they don't budge...and I'm not brave enough to...

    I finally found a refrigerator!

Well, after three months of searching for a refrigerator that would fit down the companionway stairs in my 45C, I have just found one. For those of you with a hall width of 25.5", the cabinet depth was the deciding factor. The Hotpoint I had is no longer made, now its 26" deep. So I found...

    Haulout question

I am hauling my boat in August, and have a question about the travel lift. How many straps are required to lift my '69 45C? The marina wants 3 or 4 straps, but I think thats so they can charge an extra $5 per foot out and $5 per foot back in. How many straps do I really need? Also, once...

    Building a fuel polisher-How to...

I am constantly going through racors on my 892N's, when i bought the boat there was about 300 gallons of diesel that had sat for well over a year. The fuel is black, and I treated it with PRI-D. Before I go out and burn this anymore than I have to, I would like to install permanently a fuel...

    Running a wire forward...

OK, I have rewired about 75% of my boat, and so far I have found a way to run these wires. I was replacing my forward bilge pump and switch which is just aft of the v-birth on my '69 45C. As I spliced into the original duplex wire, I noticed the black corrosion on the copper wires and it...
