I have looked through my Glendinning Synchronizer manual and it says nothing about lubrication points. Is there any part of the unit that needs lubrication, and if so, where. Thanks.
The rubber "gasket" on my Galley Maid windlass foot switch is in need of replacing as it is cracking. I contacted Galley Maid and they want $29 plus $8 shipping for the part. I guess that they're very proud of this part as this seems awfully pricey to me. Has anyone else found a source for...
I ordered the wrong part. I have a battery temperature sensor (BTS) part no. 808-0232-01 which is for the Xantrex XC or Truecharge 20 charger. Cost $44 but yours for FREE - just pay shipping (appx. $6.50). If interested send email to tomsuber1@sc.rr.com and put HATTERAS in the subject line.
I have a 1979 Hatteras 43 DC; 2-16,000 BTU Cruisair units with three knob controls; 10 years ago pump wiring changed so that pump cuts ON-OFF when compressor cycles due to thermostat demand. This past weekend on Sunday morning I awoke and found the temperature in the salon at 64 degrees...
The 1978 70' Hatteras MY on eBay doesn't look like any 70' Hatteras in the brochures on the site. The lines of the deck house look more like the 64' MY but the hull looks like the 70 Series I. Do you think it's a custom? Maybe Roger will know. Just curious here.
By the way ... it's back on...
Just for info - today I ordered the replacement portlight gaskets from Fuller Brush and was advised that all of their pricing is going up next week ... so if you need anything from them you might want to go ahead and order now!
I currently have a Heart Interface (now Xantrex) Truecharge 40+ charger on my
two bank battery system (2-8D's in each bank). The charger has worked without a problem for the past 10-12 years. Two days ago, apparently one of the 8D's shorted out (3.5 years old) and the charger "cooked" it dry...
With the Feds move to discontinue incandescent light bulbs in mind ... do you think that they will be doing away with 12v bulbs and should we stock up? As far as I have heard there are no 12v florescent bulbs ... or are there? Thanks.
Since everything petroleum based seems to be going up in price, I'm thinking about buying a supply of impellers for my mains (6-71N's with Depco 17935-0001 impellers). How long should the impellers last if stored in the shipping box? I am in fresh water and change the impellers every other...
I have two TaylorMade 21" diameter white fender balls ... several years old but never used ... inflated and kept in my garage ... but just too large for my 43. Paid $105 each ... first $100 plus shipping gets them both. Email me if you want a picture at tomsuber1@sc.rr.com.
Does anyone have an extra set of the deck mounting kit that holds the stairs in place when not in use? It has two deck fittings and one fitting that mounts on the handrail stanchion. Thanks. Please email me at tomsuber1@sc.rr.com.

I recently replaced my weatherboards and used white Boatlife caulk to seal the new weatherboards to the underside of the teak cap rails and to the toe rail. My problem is that the Boatlife has turned brown in places and has cracked in other places allowing water to wick in. Does anyone know...
I bought a 100 foot roll of white Textilene 80 fabric to make new sunscreens last Fall. This fabric is 60 inches wide. I have quite a bit left over. If anyone needs some let me know. It cost $6.50 a linear foot and I'll sell for $5.00 a linear foot plus shipping. You can email me at...
I have just returned from the Hatteras Owner's School this week and one topic of discussion concerning the AC system pertained to cleaning the water circulation side of the system on a regular basis (every two years) to remove calcium and other deposits. I wanted to express their thoughts for...
I have just returned from the Hatteras Owner's School this week and one topic of discussion by the engine guys at Jarrett Bay pertained to stored injectors in our spare parts inventory. I wanted to express their thoughts for all to consider and get any feedback.
I hope I got all this correct...
If anyone has changed out their Twin Disc oil pressure gauges and still has a working oil pressure sender for AC gauges (0-400 psi) I'd be interesting in acquiring it for a spare. Anyone?? Thanks.
I have Twin Disc MG506 transmissions with a little over 5000 hours on them. Oil changed 400 hours ago ... three years. Today I noticed that my port transmission oil pressure was registering 400psi at 1950 rpms where as it is usually at 360psi. The starboard was at 360psi as usual.
When I...
