    534 Seamasters

I have a pair of 534 Seamaster engines for sale. Ther are both in running condition with unknown hours. I took them out of my 34 Hatt SF in March and were running strong at that time. I am repowering with new 454's for more speed. Included with the engines are Holley carbs, tranies, exaust...

    Crusaders?

While giving Labrador (Skip) a hand last night I couldn't help but notice how well thought out the Crusader engines seem to be. I later read David Pascoe's article and he seem to be pretty impressed with them. Here's the link: http://www.yachtsurvey.com/GasEngines.htm All of that said, what...

    8v92 Burn rates

I am helping an owner with his 60 MY that has 8v92 TI's. I have convinced him of the usefulness of a Floscan and we are having this installed soon. These engines have about 4000 total hours with about 1000 SMOH. Any thoughts what the fuel burn rates should be say at 1500, 1700, 1900, 2000?

    34 SF Repower options

I am getting into the depths of a major refit of my 1964 34. I am pulling the "Sea Monsters" and considering repowering with diesel. Quotes for new Yanmars, Volvo's, etc. all run upwards of $60-75K. Purchasing new diesels is not in the budget... and doesn't make much economic sense. What...

    Interesting Hatt

I was emailed by the owners of this 41 telling me it's for sale. I remember seeing it on YW a while back. She seems like a bit of "over kill" for lake cruising and fishing. Interesting though. http://www.bluespringsmarina.com/ListingDetail.cfm?ID=210

    Flowscan Displays

Preface: I've read the previous posts about Flowscans and talked with Craig Willis of Floscan. Here are my questions. Would it make sence to preplace my vintage Hatteras Tachs with side by side Floscan diplays? Craig says one display with a toggle is the typical set up. Has anyone replaced...

    Spray Rails

Has anyone replaced the aft spray rails? I am considering replacing the rotten rails and found them to be bolted through with what appears to be bronze bolts as they are pink and crumbling. I am considering prelpacing with a composite and fixing them to the hull with plastizote (sp). Any...

    12 volt Head

I'm starting to plan my refit projects fro my 34 SC. The Admiral says she needs/wants a new throne. I don't disagree but want to get some opinions about what to use. I've looked at some of the Raritan's but am warry about reliability. Any thoughts?

    Drain Plug?

I recently purchased a 1965 34 Sport cruiser. I noticed in the forward bilge on the starboard side, there appears to be a 1" bronze threaded drain plug with a T handle. The plug was removed when I found it (sunlight coming through the hull was a little startling). It appears to be in good...

    Decommisioning in NJ

Has anyone decommisioned a SF to be put on a truck in NJ? I am looking at a few 34's in NY and CT. The cost of trucking out of NY or CT is insane but out of NJ is very reasonable (cheaper, faster, and easier than delivering myself). However, I need to find a yard that can remove the FB and...

    Tank swap and other questions

Has anyone recenty changed out the FG fuel tanks in a 34C for Poly? I'm trying to put a budget together for this project. Any advice, photos, etc. are welcome. Has ethanol gas become a problem in the Long Island area?

    Charity Case

We all have a freind or relative in our life that needs help. Some of us (incuding myself) have been that been that guy in need at some point in our lives. Anyway, a friend of mine who has a sad story is now living on a 1970 Hatt 41 DC that he receintly acquired. While in tansit from Norfolk...

    Wanted: 1960's Vintage 41 Sportfish

I am looking for a 60's vintage 41 SF for a friend. Projects are welcome but turn-key is preferred. The boat does not need to be tricked out for fishing as it will be cruised most of the time and used for fishing occasionally. I have searched yachtworld and found a couple of candidates but we...

    Early 41 Convertables

Does anyone have any info on the early (1961) 41C's? I am curious about the number of hulls that were produced, and lay-up method. I have read the info on the 34C's on the 34.org page. I assume (maybe not too smart) that the lay-up methods were the same. Any thoughts?
