    Electric Fuel Priming Pump Suggestions

+1 on Walbro pumps - just make sure you pay close attention to the connector specification - I remember the thread type being a bit obscure. Easy to install correctly, just don't ignore thread types or air leaks will ensue.

Anyone Been Through Caesar Creek Lately?

Haven't been through Ceasar Creek. At 5'2" draft when going to Elliott key, I normally duck in at Stiltsville then through the very well marked channel through featherbed bank. Ceasar creek would be an easy escape to the south, but it's a bit thin for my taste without much confirmation of...

What size ball fenders/buoy for 53’

We have an arsenal of fenders for the 67’ CMY for everything from mooring to protecting the boat from the tender to rafting up. While almost all were polyform a-series (ball ) or f-series (ovals with eyes on both ends) of various sizes, I recently added a couple fendertex inflatable and was...

    Engine rebuild almost complete

I say the props are more like my current boat (67’ CMY) than my previous boat (SSN)…but I get your point - it’s all relative.

Any recommendations on disposing old/expired flares? Hazardous waste collection by the city / county won’t accept…

    Kasco de-icer / bubbler

I have a Kasco 2400D de-icer / bubbler for sale with minimal use. Posting to e-bay in the next couple days but will give a good deal here to anyone that might need a bubbler to keep the ice off their hull... Has the mounts for mounting to a dock (which conceptually makes it a good at...

    Salon AC evaporator solution

One of two blower motors in my the salon overhead ac unit, above lower station helm, started to scream (bearings) after a mere 36 years of faithful service. Now that I have managed to remove it, I have a few questions for the group: 1. Does anyone have a source for a new blower motor (near...

    Advice on wind instruments

Any recommendations on wind instrument make / model / type? I drive (especially when docking) mainly from the pilothouse of my 1988 67’ CMY and would like true wind speed / direction in the pilothouse in a 4-5” N2K display. I’m considering Airmar ultrasonic and Garmin gWind (traditional...

Looking for east coast small boat transport

Looking to move a 17' boat / trailer combo from Jersey shore to Fort Lauderdale. Anyone have experience with a good transport contractor or website they would recommend? Not a huge rush. Thanks!

    Dinghy chocks $50

Set of dinghy chocks. From a past ~13’ hard bottom inflatable. I don’t know the model or make. Also worked fine for a soft-bottom 13’ Avon inflatable for me. 47”-48” wide and slot is 7” and 9” down from the top. Not perfect but reflected in the price. Pick up in Fort Lauderdale. $50.

Engine start / stop circuit electrical drawing - late 80s

Can anyone please share a schematic of the main engine start / stop electrical circuit? My boat is a 1988 67’ cockpit motoryacht, it is very similar to 60’ motoryacht. I also assume that most of the boats of this vintage had a very similar arrangement - I know if I was the electrical engineer...

    20KW generator recommendations

I have redundant 20KW generators - both 1988 Onans, with >6,000 hours on the clock and sound shields. While both run well, I’m dealing with a pesky heat exchanger leak on the forward gen where basic parts are near impossible to come across. It’s beyond time to replace at least one on the onans...

    Dinghy chock cushion material

‘New’ dinghy (13’ whaler) means I have to re-do dinghy chocks I bought at Sailorman in Fort Lauderdale. Can anyone recommend where I can find the rub-rail like material that provides the cushioning effect between the chock and the boat. Here’s a pic of what was on there:

    Hynautic Control Leaking

PSA: Check those smoke (and CO) detectors and replace batteries!

At anchor for the weekend recently I was reminded of the importance of functioning smoke detectors. A very minor electrical issue that triggered a smoke detector alarm was able to be easily remedied rather than escalating to something more…impactful. We had 11 people aboard most of them under 17...

Solar battery charger for tender - any suggestions?

Any brand / model recommendations on a durable and reliable 12V solar battery charger for the tender? Tender is a 13' whaler with electric start that sees light use but is mostly in the water and obviously needs the bilge pump to be powered. I'd be fine taking the charger off and stowing it on...
