    Nut case.....

Steering pump nut that is. The acorn nut that was on the old wheel is a hair too wide for the hub cap on my new wheel. I have it down to 3/4" but can't figure out the thread..... 3/4"-10 will not go on more than 1/2 turn......

What kind of chain is this?

See picture. It's 1/4" rod diameter, overall 1.4" and inside 1" It fits my gipsy. But unless it's an especially strong chain I'm wondering if it's heavy enough for a 53MY. It's plenty long so in most water around here I can have 10:1 or even 20:1 if I want, although that would be a lot of swing...

    Intercooler connector tubes.

I'm looking for the two tubes indicated by the red arrow. This is an 8V71-TI I don't know if the same tube is used on other models.

    Post fresh water rinse....

So the buildup in our raw water systems necessitating the acid flush is obviously a byproduct of mostly (alkaline) salt water..... Just like outboards a fresh water flush after running would not be a bad idea. But where to connect the hose. I have a 1/2" NPT hole in an elbow in the intake...

    Acid flush raw water system.....

Here are the "before" pictures. Rigging the plumbing as we speak. I don't know if it's bad enough to cause it to run warm, but it certainly looks like it won't hurt. Can't seem to get them in focus but you get the idea.....

Some of you will get it..... otherwise Google it.

    Bilge hygene....

Not as spotless as some, but dry and relatively clean, I would like to keep my bilges that way. Everyone probably knows this, but just in case I found these. They sit perfectly on either side of the glassed in bilge connector tube that runs under the engine and they are just a skosh shy of the...

    Permanent plumbing raw side flush....

I believe Mr Clarkson has this setup and posted a thread on it quite a while ago. I have a screen shot it was thread 31497 but I can't seem to navigate to it.... Did anyone happen to bookmark it? EDIT.. found it but it's archived sans pictures....anyone save the pictures?

    Zincs....how many?

Asked this question twice, but buried in lengthy other stuff soooo..... I know of three zincs on my 8V71-TI's One in the raw water pump Two in the heat exchanger. Are there more? Thanks.

    It was a good day.....

For the engineering team (me) aboard Lady Kay...... Removed the broken flybridge VHF antenna bracket and replaced it with an unused one that was further back. The antenna is taller than the shed I dock in. This caused a bad noise. There was a yellow post-it note on the instrument panel. Never...

    Engine temp sender 32V

Anyone have a source? Both Diesel Pro and J&T are negative. Diesel Parts Direct says the serial number shows no temperature sensor(s) period. I guess this was left to whomever was building the application? (Voice mail in to SAM's) And while we're on the subject anyone know the thread size off...

Second trip.... some answers more questions.

As discussed elsewhere my fuses were popping with a lot less than 50A load. I was resolved to managing the load as suggested until such time that I throw a few boat units at the system. (laminated a picture of the panel for easy reference) But then the power cord failed and I got a new one and...

    Search light not moving.

Light works... but won't move from either station. Let's start with a fuse. Any suggestion for a location?

    Listing to port......

She's leaning. Don't think she was doing it before but can't swear to that. Normally I notice these things. Curtains an inch plus off kilter at window sill level. We did put quite a bit of stuff on there, but not more than 5-600 pounds. Most of it is to port. Galley, mid stateroom closet full of...

    Shore power cord failure.

Lost one side of the electric. Fuses good, pedestal good. Borrowed another cord and all was well. Soooo a near boat unit later (also got a Y adapter and a nice jacket for my bride) I have a new power cord. 25' Which is plenty 95% of the time and a lot easier to carry around than the 50'. Wonder...

    Glendinning info.....

So to restart the train of thought, the synchronizer works, the tachs come off it, are giving erroneous readings (Both SB 4-500 low, P unverified) and the whole thing looks a little gnarly from the outside. I want to thoroughly understand how this all works, fix it up properly and then maintain...

    Curtain track slidey thingies.....

Forgot to take notes... somewhere someone posted an Amazon ?? link for the eyelets that are sewn on to the curtains and run in the tracks.....And, does anyone know the inside dimension of said track.... left the boat without checking. Thank you. On edit.... based on the Sailrite slides people...
