OK, the diagram says that the capstan *should* pull straight up, by removing the top plate from the Gypsy. Except THIS gypsy dfoesn't have a top plate. I'm doing a direct replacement of the whole assembly, so: How do I get the bugger off?

I need to replace the windlass on the '48 MY. (Motor's shot, gear box a rusted mess.) GM gives 25% discount if I ship them back the pieces of the old one. Current model is a GM BBHW. 1/2 inch chain. Thoughts?

OK, I want to do 2 things: 1) Replace the full size, side-by-side doored fridg/freez, 120v only... w/ a new one (the one in place is original [1983]); and 2) Provide for 120v/12v power to the new one. Runin' the Gen all the time (OK, most the time) to keep stuff cold seems idiotic. Q...

Sorry for sooooo many 'newbie" questions, but I am what I am, and make no bones about it... "Displacement" rpms are 1000 (hull speed 8.3 kts & 5/6 gph). "Planing" rpms are 2000 (15.8 kts & 32 gph). Everything/body says 'don't run the motors too long at too low rpm... OK, what's "too long?"
