    Washer Dryer replacement

Series 1, 48 MY. Like most of the early 80's boats, I've got the stackable. It's dead. (Long Live the Dryer!) My problem is that I can't find a replacement of the correct size. The new stuff is too tall! Any ideas out there? ~C

    Old Autopilot Parts...

I'm looking for a replacement for the flybridge remote station for the OEM autopilot ('83 series 1, 48 MY). Anybody got one?

    'lectrical Gremlin?

I’ve got a ‘83, 48' Series 1 MY. She’s got the standard 30amp120v/50amp240v set up. I keep blowing 30 amp fuses. Put delayed fuses in, thinking the breaker would trip B4 the fuse. Not. I’m sitting here at the YC, using the 30 amp service and was running the saloon cruiseair heater and fridge...

    Venturi screen

Yeah, well, during the last windstorm the flybridge canopy came craching down and busted the Stbd side if the screen. Any ideas where to get a replacement? SF Bay Area...?

    Battery Life ...

I've a '83 48' MY with the original Frigidair Fridge, an ice maker and an 18 bottle win chiller on the sundeck. I installed an inverter this year, and find I get about 4-5 hrs in the two 8D house bank batteries. ok, the point of the inverter was to not have to run the damn genny all night...

    Certificate of Compliance... Location?

Ahhh, Insurance People. Got to love them. OK, I've been asked to provide (or show) the Certificate of Compliance for my '83 48' MY. Hell, I don't know if it's in the original documentation from Hatteras, or if there is some little silver plate stuck on a bulkhead somewhere. Anybody know where...

    Gore Tex Shaft Packing...?

I know, I know, "It's only a dumb question if you DON'T ask it...Dummy!" So, there are two kinds of the GoreTex dripless shaft packing. And, no I don't remember what the two kinds are. What are they? Then there's the question of what size to get for a 48MY ('83). 1/2? 5/8? 3/4? Answers...

    SF Bay Hatts

I asked this before (about 18 months ago...)... Who's in the SF Bay?

    Oil Pressure gauges ('83 48MY 6v92TA)

    No I haven't "plotted" theses ##s. It's from poor (but close) memory... Upper port = 0 @ off Upper stbd = 40 @ off Lower port = 40 @ off Lower stbd = 45-50 @ off Upper and lower port = 55-60 @ 1200 rpm Upper and lower stbd = 65-70 @ 1200 rpm Upper & lower port = 55-65 @ 1900 rpm Upper &...

Chain Rode: size for a 48 MY ?

OEM was 1/4 G4. Seems REALLY light to me (even though I only use the boat in the SF Bay). Upgrade to 5/16th G4? 3/4? Thoughts?
  12. Buccaneer

Anybody ever convert 48MY V-berth to a double?

    Can it be done?
  13. Buccaneer

Maybe (probably) dumb questions abt batteries...

On the 48MY, port side is "house" and start port side motor; stbd side "starters only" for stbd motor and genny. I'm thinking to put an inverter in (as many of you know and have commented upon [thanks]), and have a Q about useage. Stbd side was replaced about 18-24 mos ago, port about 6 mos...

    Exhaust elbows for '83 48MY

Exhaust RISERS for '83 48MY Yup, I'm messing around in the engine "room." The exhaust RISERS (not elbows, not aftercoolers) need replacing. Thoughts on where to go for new ones? (DD 6v92TAs) (I'm figuring Sams isn't going to have two "in stock" - ya know...) I've got "helpers" who are -...

    Inverter for '83 48MY ...

Why these were't standard equipment... OK, so I want to put one in, mainly to service the frig, Sat TV (kids, you know), stereo. I figure to place it under the gally bench seat nearest the engine room bulkhead. Recommendations on inverter size, location, installation, and anything else I...

    63 CPMY vs. 67 CPMY

OK, so I'm just a little crazy; and NO I am NOT (repeat NOT) going to go buy one. I will NOT. Honest. BUT, if I was; which one would it be? Thoughts?

    Teak Blothing, re-staining, envy.

I've the same Series 1 48 Chris adn BobK and WalterP have, and mine has decking like Chris'. (No built in sun deck seating though!) My decks need refinishing. I started to strip and as I re-stained I got color blotches. (The stain was a WHOLE lot darker than the "didn't need re-staining"...

6V92TAs ... How much smoke is "too much"?

I know, I know: you need to run them up, get them hot, and then you can cruise at 1100-1500 rpm all day long. And I know that they've been run at 11-1500 for about 50 hrs (well, maybe 100 hrs :o )without running them up to 2200, and holding, for a while. (I had a bad pressure sender - it...

    Anchor Line ...

So, I have 200 feet of 1/4" G4 on the 48MY. I'm mostly inside SF Bay, or in the Delta, and spend most the time anchored in mud (the Bay) or grass (the Delta). Yucky, sticky, mud. Slippery, tangly, grass. Then again, there is some coastal running I want to do that'll take me to 1/2 Moon Bay...
