Shift Interrupter Switch
I have detroits in my recently acquired 1978 Hatteras. Went 1400 miles bringing her back from Clearwater with no major issues with engines or transmissions. Last day of trip port engine was idling faster than normal 500RPM at about 700 RPM with no other issues. Went to pull out of my slip for the first time after getting home and the port engine died as soon as I put it in gear. this continued until I was able to run it in gear at about 1000 RPM. Could this be a shift interrupter switch causing this issue and if so any recommendations as to how I can fix?
