My quote from State Farm lists "Watercraft Lability" for $500,000. Thoughts on what is an appropriate amount of liability? Based on the fact that this is a 53' boat, the boats I will be piloting it around (at least in the marina) won't typically be 20' pontoon boats. Just thinking even a modern mid 30's CC is would likely be approaching 1 million in value.
 
I don't know what other folks think about this, but my insurance will only do $500k in liability, but, the coverage does meet the guidelines to be included under my umbrella policy.
 
Marinas typically require 500k. An umbrella policy is cheap though
 
$1M in a lot of marinas in Florida
 
If you have a personal umbrella it will be excess of.
