  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
48' YACHT FISHERMAN (1972 - 1975)
Welcome back to the newly renovated Sam's Marine Hatteras and Cabo Yacht website!
I've opened this thread for anyone that is having issues with the new software to ask questions.
I'd like to keep this thread strictly for new forum software support, so thank you to all that were appreciative, but please keep the "Thank you" posts out of this thread.
Ask away...

How do we update our profiles? Mine is empty.

Everything to do with your profile should be under the link that your username creates:

One more question, I post between 15 and 20 morning funnies each day. Every time I open the morning funnies it opens it to the very first page instead of the last page that I posted on is this the way it’s gonna be from this point on?

I'm looking into this further, but the way XenForo seems to work is as follows:
If you have unread posts in a forum, it should automatically take you to the first unread post.
If you have read all of the posts the thread title will take you to the first post.
If you want to go to the last post click the date of that post, which is to the right of the thread title. Red arrow.
If you want to go to the last page of posts, click the page number. Orange arrow.
I hope that helps.

Each of the 41,000+ that I’ve posted have been read by me, but it’s still brings me right back to the first one. I understand by push pushing the button on the ride. It takes you all the way to the end, but I’m not sure if everybody’s gonna catch that right away that’s why I’m questioning it.

That's exactly what this thread is for, sorting out functionality that is different with the new software. ;)
If you have already read all of the posts then clicking the thread will always take you to the first post. You will be able to tell if you have read all the posts if the thread title is not in bold. Threads titles with new posts inside are bold.

As I would like to keep this thread as technical resource I have been moving all of the "thanks" threads to the forum shutdown post. Although those posts are nice, I'm not here for the fame. :D

That said, let's make this post technical as well:

It can be difficult to keep track of who the OP (Original Poster) of a thread is, so there is now an "OP" ribbon added to the user avatar on their posts within a thread. (Blue arrow)

You will also notice that there is now a "reaction" button at the bottom of each post (it says "Like"). If you like what someone has posted then simply smash that like button. (Green circle)

You can also hover over that reaction button to gain access to some more reactions, if maybe you don't like what they have to say. Please be kind though, we don't want to have to take the new toys away. :D

Seems the photo albums would be a lot more fun/easy to navigate if the albums could be titled somehow. Then perhaps an alphabetical list in the left margin so you could jump right to the one you want.

The galleries are actually user created content - it would be awesome if the users would label their photo galleries. ;)

Once I get through some other higher priority item I will see if there is some other way to sort or display them.

If I post something on everything else should it not appear in unread messages on the first page? Each of my post do not show up there.

If you (the general you - it is the same for everyone) post something, it will not be unread for you as you have already seen it.
Don't worry, they are unread for everyone else.

I'm looking into this further, but the way XenForo seems to work is as follows:

When I click on a thread in the “New Post” page, it opens with the first post in the thread, not the first unread post like most forums do.

That’s using IOS (current version)

Did you mark all of the various forums as read when you first logged into the new forum software? IF not, click the lighting bolt (What's New), go do the posts tab and click the "Mark Forums Read" button.

One of the few things lost in the transfer from vBulletin to XenForo is what posts each user account has read or not read - marking them all as read will give you a fresh starting point to track read posts and then you should be taken to unread posts from then on. This was mentioned in the forum upgrade thread.

If you already did that, send me a DM and I'll see if we can further get to the bottom of it. But the functionality is working correctly for me(, and I assume others?)

Two questions.

Why have all our signatures disappeared?

What happened to the members list?

Are we no longer able to search the members list by boat model, location, name, etc?

Doesn't seem to be part of the core XenForo functionality. I will put it on the list to investigate though.
