Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
I’m starting to look into this. I imagine my charter plotter has the feature but I was looking for other options as well. Maybe something on the phone or tablet that would be in the cabin with me.

I do see there are a handfull of Aps available. Looking for first hand knowledge.

Thoughts?

I ve been using the anchor alarm in Aquamap. Solid app, doesn’t crash, works in the background. Always sounds alarm after I raise anchor since I always forget to turn it off.

Never had an issue with reception below decks on my iPhone or iPad

I do double duty on mine. I have a Vesper AIS which ties to my iPad. It has a drag alarm and notifies me if an AIS vessel comes into the radius I set. Also one of my apps, Navionics I think, has an anchor drag alarm I set as well. Maybe my Inavix app or could be both. If I sleep in the bridge I set the one on my chart plotter.

I use my Garmin when I'm on the boat, but when we leave and dinghy to shore or out of sight of the boat, that is when I get more concerned. I have left a phone aboard so I can check it with find my iPhone, but have not figured out a better way or app to use while I'm away from the boat.

There are some apps you can set up on one devise which will alert you on another if the boat drags.

Haven’t used any yet though :)

Anchor Pro is what I use

On the bridge, I have Nobeltec & Simrad anchor alarms set. As a backup I have used Anchor Pro on my iPhone with good success, but you do need cell signal. AquaMap sounds interesting…

You only need cell (or wifi) to use the remote monitoring function if you re off the boat.
