  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
I need to buy an adapter in order to connect my (2) 30 service to 50 amp dock service when I go to a marina that only has 50 amp service.

I see where some adapters say 50 amp 125/250v and others just 50 anp.

Also, the best price I found ( $180 +/- ) was at Defender is for a brand called "Furrion" which I've never heard of.

Any suggestions regarding the voltage I should get and/or this brand?

Thanks

50 amp 125/250 is the most common but there are others too.

The 50 amp 125/250v is not the same as the 50 amp 50 amp 125v

You rarely ever see any docks with 50a 125v plugs. What you need is the 50a 125/250v on one end with the the two female 30a plugs on the other end. I have never heard of that "f" brand either.

I am in the process of installing a 50A cord retractor to replace my existing two 30 amp shore power inlets. I'll have a 50A 125/250 splitter and two, or three, 30A shore power cords that I don't need pretty soon. I'll also have a basket full of 30A inlet fittings/parts and new/spare 30A plugs I don't need. If you are interested send me a PM.

Which 50A retractor are you installing (glendinning?) and have you found a good source/price anywhere? Thanks!

Thanks for the information,
125/250 is what I will get.

The retractor is a Glendinning and I think I did get a good price. I paid $1200 for a new in the box unit with storage tub, mounting bracket, inlet fitting, switch, and all kinds of rollers, tubes, etc. that I don't need. It also came with 75' of 50A cable.

I bought it from Great Lakes Skipper (a marine surplus outfit). They did have two more units, but I don't see them listed on their website now.
